Where can I find rain totals for the USVI
Where can I find rain totals for the islands? Weather underground shows only percentage of possible rain but not amounts.
Since the rainfall is significantly different depending on the area of the island, it would be difficult to nail it down. I suspect they measure it at the airport but not sure if/where they make the information available. The airport measurements would not be accurate for the east and west ends of the island. We have a rain-o-meter and meticuously measure it and put it in a spreadsheet by day and month.
Try this link but it is only averages per island. http://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php
I have to log rain totals daily for a project - I use the following link and click on Today's Almanac. It gives rain actuals and averages for many years back and is an excellent reference: http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/hdfForecast?query=kingshill%2C+vi
I also reference data reports from SERCC, they have an excellent website with all kinds of weather related information specific to STX.
I keep a log for myself.
Always did it when I farmed so I continued here.
4.2 inches since 12/1/12 in Rattan.
We are in the Beeston HIll area and we had 2.75" in December. Just goes to show you how different the precipitation is around the island.
We are in Judiths Fancy December 3.88, year 2012 34.1 total, 2011 58.5 T, 2010 75.4 T, noticed we lost quit a few banna trees this year around the island.
There are options to get monthly totals by day for St Croix, St Thomas, and San Juan
Maybe this helps as a general overview:

But then you might get the same total from one tropical downpour as a days of continuos drizzle in London or Seattle.
