Been here 3 years in October, AINT LEAVIN'!

I come from a law enforcement background(among other things) and can tell you that peer pressure in any force will eventually draw down even the most effective officer to the level of the rest of the force. No matter how many you recruit they will soon be "just like the rest".

The VI force is indifferent to the public and those not in their inner circle and this in it's self makes it hard for John Q. Public to interact with law enforcement in this small environment. In other words they don't have to be assholes to do their jobs. They are public servants just like all public employees and we are not all Thugs.

Just my 2 cents.

So we need to replace the whole force or a good part of it all at once?

Woodrup is at it again, shot and in the hospital, airlifted from JFL for emergency surgery at some undisclosed location.

Strangely, the source has not covered this story (unless I missed it, but I looked) and the Avis will not mention his name.

Only the viconsortium mentions his name - Dwayne DMX Woodrup.

Vi consortium article on woodrup

So this makes the third time that this criminal has been treated at the hospital. At what cost to the community and a beleaguered hospital in need of funds?

Once on Centerline near Central, once in JFK.

Where was the third?

The first time was after this prison altercation, in which he lost an eye (from what I'm told). He was treated at the hospital at the time.

Seriously Wounded Detainee Charged In Knife Fight At St. Croix Prison
The Virgin Islands Daily News - St. Thomas
Subjects: Knives; Weapons; Criminal investigations
Author: Shea, Daniel
Date: Sep 2, 2011
Start Page: n/a
Section: News
Abstract (Document Summary)
[Dwayne Woodrup] was released on pre-trial, 24-hour house arrest with electronic monitoring by [Miguel Camacho] after Woodrup's attorney, Eszart Wynter, argued that sending Woodrup back to prison was "a death wish."

Seconds before the officer was surrounded and shouting at the prisoners to stop, he was transferring Woodrup through the detention center for a visit with his attorney, [Jeffrey Nisbett] said. The officer saw [Edwin Encarnacion] approaching them and saw Woodrup pull out two knives from his clothes, according to Nisbett.

Eventually, Encarnacion overpowered Woodrup, got on top of him and stabbed him repeatedly, Nisbett said. Other Corrections officers rushed to the scene and tried to pull Encarnacion from Woodrup, he said.

Why do they bother treating this loser. Just let him bleed out and die on the table.

But wait! Maybe he's doing the community a service by attempting to eradicate other trouble makers.

Hmmm.

I would like to think that the doctors who one day may treat me or my family take the Hippocratic Oath seriously.

Its interesting to follow the names on google search. Years back, dmx was caught up doing bad things with uncle roy who was murdered at the Lyme night club. Also one of the guys who stabbed dmx was murdered in campo rico not too long ago. Could it all be related?

Yep it is interesting. Research into this particular thug reveals a lot of information and names of other thugs involved. If you go back to the crimes Henry, Woodrup and Pogson committed back in 2012 you read about guns and drugs, murder and retaliation. They were accused of killing Jamali Allick. So now of course Alick's posse must be involved with killing Henry and trying to kill Woodrup. What we see is a microcosm, just one example of the many gang crimes on STX and in the VI. Nothing the cops or families do is going to stop these evil people.

I have heard from people who know people who know about Woodrup, that the cops are afraid of him, and that he has several "bodyguards". I have heard that he is not afraid of anyone, and has been sighted by the boardwalk area many times.

I hope that either he dies in the states (wherever they airlifted him to) or he is not allowed to return to the VI

DMX crimes go far back: woodrup drug ring

And how about this:
8. From prior investigations, Sgt. Herbert knew that DMX/X-Man's real name is Dwayne Woodrup; Uncle Roy's real name is Roy Henry, Jr.; and Bugzy's real name is Levar Pogson. Sgt. Herbert's prior investigation also revealed that Woodrup, Henry and Pogson are associates of a gang called the Kennedy Real Killers and that this gang is rivals with other gangs in the territory. Id. at ¶ 3(j).

9. During the investigation into the murder of Jamali Allick, Sgt. Herbert received information from associates of Allick and Woodrup that the two rival groups are preparing for a feud. Id.

I don't know why but I'm semi-obsessed with this. Researching these gangstas really shows you what's going on and why it will never stop.

when in the middle of "tit for tat" who is the first to stop?

In this community, no one; because the pride and honor is so inflated (to cover for the fact that they have little to take pride in and no honor that I can see) that it takes on a life of its own.

This is the mentality that will keep the back and forth going; perhaps if we give these people something to actually take pride in things will change. Or introduce real honor...

They are grasping at concepts they don't understand & only partially implement.

Let's hope they kill each other's gangs off without hurting any innocent bystanders.

Yes, a beautiful, talented, educated, young woman who had her whole life ahead and leaves grieving family and friends because she made the mistake of leaving a club in the early morning hours.

http://stthomassource.com/content/news/local-news/2016/07/30/woman-killed-stray-bullet-outside-nightclub

There was also the young 14 year old girl, a few years ago, celebrating her birthday on a cruise ship, with her parents that were at Coki Beach, leaving in a taxi van when she was shot in a gunfight at a rivals burial that was taking place.

Just recently, there was the shoot out near a school where children could have been injured or killed.

It's actually amazing that more innocent bystanders aren't killed because they happen to be in the wrong place and at the wrong time.

This can happen to any of us.
We've been lucky, except for those that haven't.
In all my life here, I have never seen such lawlessness nor ineptitude of Law Enforcement to adress and bring justice and closure.

When I arrived here I was told two important things: avoid Coki Beach, night clubs and area behind Windward Hotel.

Well, maybe you misheard. What you might have misinterpreted is the admonition to be careful of areas you frequent after nightfall which include Coki Beach, night clubs (particularly in the wee hours of the morning) and anywhere north of the waterfront where incredibly "good" people live but where a stranger "whitey" looking for drugs is an easy target for lowlifes.

For donkey's years and not always warranted, as is the case for "Smith Bay" in general and as can be said for many areas of STT (Contant, Savan, Back Street, etc). A big "etc".
