WHAT HAPPENED AT STIXX???
Anyone hear what happened at Stixx?
what do you mean?
Some girl on Facebook said Styxx was no more yesterday?? That was our FAVORITE place to drink!!!
oh yeah, sounds like that was me, i said something like that on facebook yesterday. I think they closed down in February but not sure exactly when. I dont know if robbie has anothe bar job but john does.
That just sucks. You KNOW they had the biggest, cheapest, best drinks in town and the view was to die for. That really saddens me. Booooooohooooooooo!!!!!
Then there was Stixx in STT.
Chuck Greenfeild opened it up, said he was from STX.
We called him UPCHUCK(BC the place was upstairs, & if you ever did business with him, you'd upchuck!).
I remember the Stixx to Stixx race(I still have the Tshirt)!
When 'ole UpChuck died, @ his funeral reception some got up & had a hard time saying anything good(strangest funeral reception I've ever been to)...
the best, most positive thing said was something to the effect: something like you needed to know Chuck, he was, well, difficult as a business person, but he did act ok sometimes....
He lost his boat in hurricane Bertha, it was smashed in a million bits, we called it "Stixx on the water front"
Chuck told me when in STX, just mention his name & I'd be taken care of!
Visiting STX. during a music festival, I remember hotel rooms filling up, restaurants not taking orders & so on @ his name being mentioned!
My party & I finally figured out he was not liked at all in STX.!
After we stopped flashing his name around, STX. became A GREAT PLACE!
Well, I did meet Morgen Freeman the actor there @ Stixx STT, w/ Chuck, I got to work on Morgans boat(a very modest boat I must say).
Morgan was cool, he liked to be incognito when @ the old yacht Haven.
Sorry to reminisce, I haven't heard Stixx in many years!
If it's still open, I'll visit next time I have a call in STX & there is time!
The place looks like a jail with all the security fencing around it.
If I owned it, and decided that I needed all that fencing, I'd rename it "The Stockade" and play up the jail theme.
It already usually has more than enough scruffy looking old white guys sitting in front of it.
Yardbirds?
DUN--you are spot on with your comments about Chuck.
A former boss of mine got into a business relationship with him and lost a lot of $$. He was one of many Scoundrels who has come and gone on STX.
For the last 10 years or so it's been "STYNX"
