Target.com is shipping here for free over $35. Even big stuff. I've placed a couple of orders already. This probably won't last long lol!

Oh excellent - thanks for the heads up!

I used PayPal both times I purchased. And I used my debit card with my local PO Box billing address through PayPal for payment. And I ordered big airtight containers and a cube shelf thing with some bins. So these are large items I got with free shipping. I did however have them ship to my work address for convenience sake and that is at a mail center... ie not a PO Box. So I'm not sure if a PO Box shipping address will go through. I will give it a shot over the weekend and see what happens. Heads up though, not all items on their website ship. Not only no just to us, but to anyone. Lots of things are store pick up only.

Ok, they will take a VI PO Box address for billing. I ordered a chair just now and they would not ship it to a PO box but would ship it to my work address which is at the St. John Biz Center on St. John.

My results with Target shipping have been mixed as well. For example, sheets -- not a large item -- no shipping to a PO Box but will ship to a physical address. Still, the free shipping with a $35 order makes it a great deal for basic household supplies that do well in transit.

Now, if I lived on STT and could just pop over to Walgreens or KMart anytime, I would be less excited to spend time figuring out what will and will not ship. YMMV.

I noticed on the Target website that under the product/mini description, they note 'only ships with $25 order/Free shipping with $35 order' or something like that in green text. So those were the things I focused on. So far I've only bought bulky items that I know I wouldn't be able to find on STT at all. They have these watertight pet food containers that are perfect for food storage for me. Hard for me to find them on STT in the size I wanted. I think the Target website has an option for sorting items by shipping preference as well. Not sure if this is the case on STT or STX, but the mail center here will let you ship something to them even if you don't have a box with them for $5. So with free shipping from Target, the $5 fee from the mail center is not a big deal.

On the Target and Amazon orders, how reliable have the shipping time/day estimates been? I noticed on Amazon (I'm Prime too), I generally see 3-5 business days for delivery. Target provides an exact day. I'm curious what you have all seen (I'm in STX).

Thanks

My Amazon order estimates to STX have been pretty accurate, sometimes a few days later.

My Amazon orders are always way off. They usually don't even ship the order until a week after I order. And that is almost across the board no matter who the 'seller/shipper' is. I am so sick of them that I almost never order from them any more if I can find it elsewhere.

I ordered some large storage containers from Target on a Friday and they were here the following Monday. Storage bins on Friday, arrived Tuesday. A shelf and a chair are taking longer to show in USPS as moving (just says label created). I would guess the first thing to go for them is using Priority Mail. That seems to be the case with most other retailers.

most things are when they say they are. occasionally there is a delay but if you check order status, that is always updated

I often see Amazon not shipping until just before the guestimated delivery date. But the majority of my orders still end up arriving by the end of the delivery window. Sometimes I'll contact them if an order hasn't shipped by the window and they'll upgrade it to priority shipping at no cost. And occasionally they will tell me there must have been some shipping issue and they re-ship the order and I end up with two.

That happened to me a while back with my Amazon Fire TV box order.

I ended up with three for the price of one.

Cool! My wife just found that Land's End will ship for free to the Vi over $50.

You can get better polo shirts on STT at Asfour store and they're cheaper than Land's End.

There are a few things I have on Subscribe and Save monthly shipping on Amazon that tend to ship when they are supposed to, but that's it. Everything else ships 7-10 days after I place the order. Complaining hasn't helped either. I order from Ebay all the time now. The sellers are so eager to get a good review in most cases they ship the same day I order. And I don't have to go all the way to checkout to find out they won't ship here which is something that saves me time.

Thanks for all the feedback. So, it sounds like Target is far more reliable than Amazon. Reason I ask is that I come to STX for a week at a time so hitting that delivery time is important :).

I prefer ebay to Amazon, too for the same reasons. I also like the personal touch you get from eBay sellers. I also think ebay's search is more targeted.

I ordered quick dry bath towels from JC Penney and they sent a text when package was delivered. Will start checking the site more often.

Well, target has already started making changes. I went back on their site to see if I could still get the food bins. Nope. They won’t ship them now. Bummer, but figured that would happen sooner or later.

I placed an order Friday and received my items yesterday!

I was not able to order everything I wanted and it was annoying that I didn't find out until I was confirming my shipping address (was setting up a new account)

I could not order
coffee
chocolate
feminine items

I was able to order
kleenex
eye pencils
Urine Gone spray (for cat / dog pee)
Mrs Meyers clean day dish detergent
toothbrushes
q tips

oops I forgot I also could not order rx bars!!!!! Which I really wanted because target's price is really good.

Anyone who has not tried rx bars, you are missing something!
The peanut butter chocolate and coconut chocolate are off the charts good, and off the charts good for you.
