I have tuned in couple of times in the evening and have not seen him? Is Wes still with the station?

Maybe he was fired because he was 'small'.

he used to interview my ex all the time - they looked hilarious together - tiny wes talking to a gigantic ex-football player - too funny - hard to get both their heads in on a close-up

Maybe he should have been a 'mini jumbie'...

He is the worst newsperson on the air I have ever seen. I can't even call him the word that begins with a "J" and ends in "ist."

The station looked ridiculous themselves for employing him.

I liked Wes personally but agree that the newscast was bush league. It doesn't matter to me now though. I rarely watch any local news since I got DISH.

Sorry to butt in on the residents conversation--- but I'm curious! Is Wes the man who does those looooonnnnnngggg interviews with people on one of the local news? Wow, while watching I've had time to run to the restroom, go make a snack, clean up the snack, fold a load of clothes... and the guy's still interviewing someone! Just wondered if this was who you're all talking about.

When friends were visiting they thought the local news with Wes was like a Saturday night live skit. When I told them that it was our actual real news they couldn't believe it.

Thanks Dixiechick--- I couldn't believe what I was watching at times! I wonder if the rest of the news team is glad he's gone, or sad because now they have all that time to fill up with actual news;)

I actually miss Wes. Yes, the whole news broadcast is high school journalism at best, but it was a source of entertainment and I can catch up on local issues at the same time. Unfortunately, Wes' replacement has no personality and I find the broadcast very boring now 🙁

On my "bucket list" is the desire to see people NOT spreading coconut telegraph rumors which particularly relate to others' personal lives and habits. I was the victim of it many years ago and anybody who's not experienced it can have no idea how false rumors expand very fast and continue to grow for years afterwards - nor how incredibly hurtful they are.

I've no doubt at all that this bucket list item won't come about. If you have an opinion based on fact or on something you personally observed firsthand that's one thing. But passing around malicious rumor is just so wrong and serves no positive purpose.
