Holy cow. Didn't see that coming. Moving to STX like in two weeks. :-O Mixed feelings. I love STT so much and if it were up to me I think I would stay as I've really come to know this rock and so many awesome people here. But onto a new rock for at least a little while - luckily I have great friends in STX too which makes it less scary and we did our PMV there four years ago and have been over a dozen times so we at least know the place.
Looking for a rental Mid island preferred. I love F-sted personally, would love to live that direction in a safe spot. gated preferred. 1 or 2 bedroom but must have 2 bath, view and vaulted ceings. $1500 preferred but will go 2k for right place (unfurnished). Pool might be nice 🙂 we have two indoor kitties so most condos are out. When we were over there we didn't find much to rent at all. What's up with that? Usually this time of year STX has more than STT for rent.
NOT trying to stir the pot about safety and crime on this thread and not being unrealistic about our island woes, but if cars get broken into - that's one thing but home invasions are another. Would like something secure.
I'll be continuing website design and photography there but if anyone knows of a charter company that wants a kick ass snorkel guide that knows just about ever critter in our waters - any leads would be great.
It'll be fun to have that honeymoon phase again and meet some chill Crucians. I am really looking forward to being in that beautiful water over there every day and getting involved with some coral growing or ocean programs also. It seems the UVI doesn't have any marine bio etc programs there?

Welcome home to STX! I second Pam@ Coldwell. Our better - half's seem to make a great team. Good for stx and the co. Folks just hang on through this transition. It's bad enough without yall cursing them. The inventory situation ain't their fault and service will improve. Welcome!

Yea for sure - corporate OMX - ODepot don't understand the challenges of the VI. They also think that stateside simplicity rules here also. Out of stocks aren't as simple as getting it transferred from another store. It can take MONTHS for stock to come in on the containers, get through customs if needed and then onto the floor. Honestly I don't know the issues they had there - here was an absolute mess. They were without a SM for almost a year. I try not to get involved lol. Be nice to my man... he literally is the nicest guy ever! Im sure it'll be better BUT it will take some time.

Same ting, different island. You'll assimilate there just as well as you did here. Stop by for a drink before you head over to STX.

Have you considered taking a temporary rental to buy you more time to find what you really want? I mean, my circumstances were worse because I only had a week & I didn't know squat about the island, but living for almost 2 years in the place I settled for because it met my minimum requirements hasn't been any picnic.

The Vibe & People are sooooooooooo friendly!!!
Even the crazy 3 hr rental car return adventure Friday, you couldn't help but keep smiling through the madness - everyone happy & helpful.

Excellent idea! I don't have anything available, but I'm pretty sure my neighbor has a 2 bedroom, 2 bath open. It's furnished, so if you could store your stuff until you get a permanent place, it might work out for you. I'll PM you her website.

I love that house! Right up the hill from us. But it's more house than we need, and a little pricey for our budget.:-(
