So I have been visiting this website for the last 2 weeks or so and we have FINALLY decided that we are moving to St. Thomas! From reading all the stories I kwow it is going to be such a crazy and intense experience, but I am ready. I have relocated before (Paris, France from California) so I hope I wont be as intimidated when my plane lands. As some of you know there is nothing like that feeling of egtting of a plane and not know what the hell to do next! haha
We are planning on arriving on St. Thomas on August 10th of this year! We have started our budget and timeline and have started the process of moving.
When we arrive we will have no job or a place to live, but our in ithe process of contacting compnaies. Brian is planning on working at a dive locker and me a guest services agent at a resort.
Just wanted to introduce myself and to let you know I will be on the island soon! WOW! It's crazy to say that. I have been reading everyones stories and soaking in all the information! THEY ARE SOOOOO HELPFUL! Thanks for all the advice!
I will be visiting this BB more and more in the weekd to come and I would REALLY appreciate anything any of you have to say. I am sure I will have specific questions in the future.
From what I've read I know that we need LOTS of saving and LOTS of preparation before our departure, so I think we're doing pretty well so far. Well see what happens.

Brad,
Your enthusiasm runs over! Just one little comment. Also prepare for hurricane season since you are arriving the same time I did last year. It is very hot, humid, and most everyone checks the weather forcasts for chances of storms. Sounds like you are preparing for the move well. Good luck to you.

Great! I'm planning to move at the beginning of June and will be looking for a job at one of the resorts, too--either in guest relations, communications, marketing/pr/sales, or anything else! I'll be sure to let you know if I come across any good info.
