We arrived on Wednesday. This has been one of the easiest moves we have ever made. Tropical was terrific to deal with on the cars. They will be ready for us to pick up on Monday. We rented a little house on a hill on the north shore. It is very small, but adequate. The man we rented from has lived on STX all his life and is a retired banker. He seems to know everybody. He is going to help us with the red tape on the cars.

It is my opinion that you can ignore just about all the negative comments you read on this board about STX. Everyone we have met here is as helpful and friendly as they can be. It's like living in a small town in the states except you seem to be accepted immediately. If you are considering a move to the USVI, give serious consideration to STX (I sound like the Chamber of Commerce).

We still have a lot to do. The cars will take about all day Monday. We've got some items to purchase for the house. (Prices aren't as bad as I remembered. You just have to shop more carefully.) Tuesday is telephone day. I understand that can be a headache, but most of the things we have done were supposed to be a headache and weren't. Things do work a little differently down here, but I think we made the right decision.

Look forward to seeing all the other new Crucians at Cheeseburgers in Paradise on Friday 8/29.

Ummm, you might to want to live there for a few months or years before ing you tell everyone how you have lived in a happy and peaceful neighborhood.
No one said that there nice werent helpful and nice people there.
Go two years without being robbed or having anything stolen, then Ill be impressed.

Welcome on board to The Big Virgin! Glad to hear your experience thus far has been positive. Hopefully, things will continue to be the same or improve throughout your stay on St. Croix. Just make sure to spread the word. St. Croix has been vying for visitors $$$s for years with St. Thomas and has gotten a bad rap....some rightly so and a lot due to competition and negative news loudspeakers. Anyway, enjoy your stay.

Ali.

Rock on Ric & Linda!
That's great to hear... we've been getting just a little stressed lately while planning our move - so the news of your travels so far is a big relief. We hope all the details get worked out tomorrow, and we'll talk to ya soon!
