While there are no water towers like out in Lufkin, we do have water pumps which move the water from your cistern to your shower!!

LOL - yeap no showers for any one living higher then first floor. LOL.

Like anywhere else (that uses pumps), if there is a weak pump system, and if many people in one home or apartment building are using sinks, tubs, showers, toliets at the same time, the water pressure is affected.

I have been in second, third story.... first story bathrooms.... with showers that were trickeling and others that were strong. Has nothing to do with the islands, and everything to do with the pumps.

When you are looking for an apartment/house, turn the shower on and see if there is good water pressure, turn the sink on at the same time, flush the toliet too - and see if the water pressure is affected. See if the water goes really hot or cold because of the muliple use of hot water also.

Speaking of island water, I had to share this story even though it takes place on the Big Island in Hawaii. Last summer, my husband and I rented a room for a week that was on one end of this guys house. He was always complaining about the price of water and how we had to conserve! I know he timed our showers because he relayed the story of one couple who took long showers to spite him! (And we payed him about $600.00 for that week! I would think that would cover our water usage!) We are going to St.Croix in June and staying at the Buccaneer. I hope they have enough water there!

Well at least he was just sort of timing you. A friend stayed at a hotel in Europe (want to say it was in Rome), and the shower was actually timed. You payed for a 10 minute shower, 15 minute shower... and when that time was up so was the water coming out of the shower head. And to make it worse - it was in someones house as well, and there living room was right there. So I quess they could laugh knowing that you were all soapy and would pay another $5 for more water.

St. Croix has water - you will be fine. 🙂
