Washer and dryer
Are there apartments with washer and dryer connections . Or is that a luxury that I need to leave on the mainlands
Many have connections, w/d in rental or access on-site, if not in rental.
When you search apartments, just check all the w & d options. I've limited my apartment search to places with w & d, and have had plenty of places to check. I think it's fairly easy to fine, if not in your unit, then onsite or with hookups. Good luck.
Hah that was cute. Not a luxury, I know a lot of people that don't have them BUT a lot of apartments do have them. I am not willing to go without. Spoiled, maybe but I won't rent a place without them. In all my searching and 3 apartments, two in STT and one in STX, most places had both. We even got a dishwasher in this rental! It's so weird, being used to doing by hand for two years, we hardly use it lol.
Where do you all do your apartment search at? I am having a hard time looking for apartments
This site's classified section, craigslist, roadside signs, VI Daily News, Island Trader - all when you're here staying somewhere temporarily until you find your way around and have wheels.

On island. Honestly I think CL and the papers are pointless. You just have to see places in person here. We've always found our places just driving around calling signs, all three have been pretty awesome with the exception of the mozzy issue in house 2 but that view was insane. We just drive around, call signs and talk to bartenders.
In STX it was freaking impossible to find a rental when we moved here which was so weird because all the ads I ever say on CL were for STX and for cheap. There was like nothing available. Finally settled on a place that I like but its a wood house which comes with its own sets of problems. Wood roaches - not sure on hurricane strength - drywall etc.
In STT in off season you can easily drive northside and call dozens of signs and find a decent place. I am pretty picky since I work from home and I like to have my place, just so. I am also OCD and it has to be clean and freshly painted or the landlords allow me to paint it myself.

After being in two long term rentals (10 years and 13 years) with a couple of short rentals in between, the last two places I found were via craigslist and my experience is definitely contrary to "pointless". I would never have found my current home (now going on 4 years) which I absolutely love were it not for spotting the ad on CL. No avenue is "pointless" and, frankly, I've never had the time to drive around looking for roadside signs although that is of course always an option which is why I never fail to suggest it.

I would have thought by now on STT there would be more signs on Northside. Very few. I looked at many apts here w/o washer/dryer. Did that for our first lease. Never again. The laundromat, if continued, would have led to our divorce. We have washer dryer now but it's not very convenient. Don a flight of stairs, then up two to mosquito heaven area outside. It's still WAY better than not having. Ideally we'd find a place next with a washer/dryer combo right in kitchen that way my wife could do laundry while cooking for me. (This is a joke, don't get all bent out f shape. She trained me well. I do all the laundry and 80% of cooking)
that way my wife could do laundry while cooking for me. (
But can she get to the machines barefoot and pregnant??

That's why God gave women smaller feet... So they can fit closer to the sink
Oh Sparty, hope you're not tossing around those quips in front of the wife on Mother's Day of all days lest you end up a very sad and battered muthah ...
One thing to check if a W/D Hookup is provided is the electrical connection available for the Dryer -- There are 110V and 220V dryers - make sure what voltage socket is provided if you already have a dryer of your own or before buying one for the rental.
