Walmart shipping
I know Walmart will ship to STX but never tried. It always says it will take 5-6 weeks. Looked last night for 2 small items but wouldn't deliver until Dec. 7!! Anyone have experience with Walmart? Does it come faster than quoted? I looked in past forums and didn't see any info on Walmart besides they do ship here. It would be helpful to know for the holidays. thanks.
I think it's the same reason as BestBuy. They ship products via freight. That method can take couple months. I have something from BestBuy being shipped that way. It's been in FL for weeks, so I called the USPS about it. And they informed me it's been loaded on a freight loader, and that ship isn't scheduled to arrive until Nov 23rd... (I ordered it Oct 2nd).
Lesson learned: don't buy small products from BestBuy (and now Wal-Mart). Freight shipping works for large items: desks, chairs, etc. But smaller products, probably best to find another place to get them.
I ordered a steam mop from WalMart two weeks ago and got it within a week. It was shipped via USPS.
I was told by Dave at Red Hook Mail Service (great place BTW) that if you need something for sure right away then opt for USPS priority shipping if the option is available as that goes by plane and parcels go by boat. Parcel post may indicate a ship date of 10 days or so, but that is just getting it to Miami. From there you have to wait until the container is full and then it floats over and it is unloaded, processed and distributed, which in total could be another 4-6 weeks from the arrival in Florida. He said sometimes you get lucky and are on the last bit of the load, so you will see your goods fast, which sounds like it was the case with you mop Lisa. Mail going out is a different story and is rather fast for some reason. I just find it hard to believe the number of businesses that will NOT ship here... amazing.. Tommy Bahama, Island Living store, won't touch us with a 10' pole!
I ordered some rugs from Walmart and it took about 6 weeks for them to arrive. I just placed an order with JC Penney and it came in about 3 weeks. I think it just depends on timing.
I know there is one shipping option with Best Buy (I think it is international priority, it is 10.99) that says it will have the item here within a few days? is this incorrect and a waste of time/money? I was gonna order a video game and it said it would be here 2 days after the release date, but not sure how accurate it is?
I know my twin and i just ordered some stuff from Amazon that was supposed to be here Wed and wont be here til Tue.
I've had mixed results with Walmart. Some items come within a week while others took 6weeks. It wasn't an issue of size because I've ordered a variety of items from clothing to household goods. It just seems to be a matter of how they decide to ship the item.

I'm still figuring out the nuances of Busy Buy shipping. I don't know yet. Maybe some else would know? I ordered a Mouse through them, and it won't be here until the end of Nov I'm told! I don't remember the exact method I chose, but order history says I picked "STANDARD" and it was $7.
