Walmart No More
It appears that Walmart has finally installed there online shopping changes to block just about anything with a destination of the V.I.
We had ordered a few food items last week and picked them up Friday at the PO.
So, we thought that we would try another order on Saturday! Now, all of a sudden, a funny thing has occurred. After you submit an order, it NOW gives you the option to ship to to your home or to VI CARGO! When you select your home address, nothing is shipable due to carrier restrictions but if you choose Vi Cargo, it all is shipable.
How would Walmart know that VI Cargo was a default shipping option as we have never used VI Cargo for shipping from Walmart! Who is it that told them to default all orders from the VI to VI Cargo?
BTW, if you are going to purchase from Walmart and ship to VI Cargo, it may be better to purchase from Amazon as they have a much better selection and similar prices. Regardless, the shipments will probably end up at VI Cargo in boxes the size of a refrigerator and in multiple conveyences so the cost of shipping will far out pace the savings.
It is a shame about Walmart, but there are a bunch of other online sites that will ship to the VI. Just have to keep truckin.
Ugh, just tried to order cat food and laundry detergent...no luck. I didn't get the VI Cargo option though...
must have just happened, i placed an order friday and it said it shipped
Those who've been writing to Donna Christian Green might want to update her office on these latest discrepancies as obviously Walmart's having a problem getting a clear cut policy in place and confusion still reigns in their ranks!
I found that we did have VI Cargo as a shipping option in our account record which is why it likely offered it up as an uption to the address here on STX.
Deleted it and tried again.....no luck! Everything in the cart refused due to carrier restrictions to U.S. Protectorates.
Too bad they can't just let you select 'I'll pay for the shipping'.!
I don't beleive that this policy has anything to do with Walmart! Just a hunch!

You can hunch 'til the goats come home but the Delegate to Congress's office and the Source have both looked into this confusion independently and have unearthed nothing remotely suggest any sort of bizarre conspiracy which you seem to be suggesting. 😀
I found that the book ' The Walmart Effect' by Charles Fishman one of the most interesting reads about this company.
