I await with bated breath. We recently took advantage of that free shipping over $45 a couple of weeks, maybe even a month, ago. I could get used to that! I'd be sad to hear that the first time we did it would be our last time, too.

i have heard a bunch of rumors, and i know people who have called donna christiansons office to find out what is going on.
some people say it has to do with the lost revenue for the government???? who know if we will ever know the real reason.
I will try placing my order this weekend-i have added more stuff.

Same thing I got; I tried to explain this to customer service and they totally ignored the question.

I would not mind paying shipping like every where else on line, but they won't even let us order. I don't understand how this happened unless KMart put the pressure on. Surely the VI Gov't doesn't have the clout to do something like this.......

Speedy, same thing I got. And, boyd46, the gov't here can do what they want, we all know that. I shipped my stuff to VI Cargo. The remainder of my order has been shipped. I just hope it doesn't cost a lot more than buying at Kmart. But, some of the things I ordered, I can't get on island. So, it is what it is.

i know a bunch of people who are shipping vi cargo-curious what the cost of that is? might be worth it to do a big order for like half the year?

Speedy, not sure, I haven't got my order yet. I will keep you informed. The downside is, Walmart doesn't ship everything in one box. So, that being said, I am sure it's going to cost a bit more than going to Kmart. However, on principle, I may do it anyway. I live down the road from VI Cargo, so there is that bonus.

I've found VI cargo prices to be pretty reasonable. With free shipping from most companies to Miami, the price often comes out about the same as it would via USPS and definitely cheaper than FedEx/ups.

Since Walmart ships the order in several boxes and VI Cargo charges by the cubic ft., it may be cost prohibitive.

Have you tried Amazon for those things you can't do without and which you would normally get from Walmart? So far I've never had a problem with them.

Here again, it depends what you are looking for as some Amazon suppliers won't mail to VI and/or deliver to a PO Box.
At least that's been my experience. This goes for all kinds of products, being sold by companies, across the board, that
do not recognize the USVI.

I couldn't get Target to ship to me here, either.

OldTart I have and haven't had issues. However, Walmart has been awesome. Hope we don't lose it forever.

After I read through this thread yesterday morning I went on walmart.com and placed an order. I didn't have any problems doing so. I obviously haven't gotten it yet, but didn't have any trouble getting the order to go through with shipping to a PO Box. I have notices that items marked "sold and shipped by Wayfair" will not ship here.

Is everyone still having trouble? What kind of items are you getting? I ordered a tricycle for my little guys birthday and it appears that the order went through ok.

I use CVS.com for many items. Now that they ship parcel post (via UPS) it takes longer, but it is still a lot cheaper than buying on St. John or St. Thomas if you take advantage of their sales. The CVS brand items are very good and the sales on their brand are usually 40% off, so I really stock up on food items, paper products, shampoo, body soap, etc.

A friend called walmart a few days ago and was told they no longer ship groceries to the VI. If you have groceries in your shopping cart, that could be whats holding it up.
