More than likely the products they won't ship are ones that they don't make money on when WalMart is paying the shipping. The markup percentages aren't the same for every product, with grocery products generally having the smallest markups. The markups probably vary, too, depending on how much WalMart has to pay for items, because especially for branded products, the manufacturer determines the cost that WalMart (and other stores) pay. There also seems to be a concern about shipping "hazardous" products.
Note that it's not just WalMart that is re-evaluating their shipping policies. It probably wasn't profitable for them, either.
ms411, your idea seems to be the one that makes the most sense.
I wouldn't have a problem paying for shipping.......if they could ship from the same warehouse in one box. I think that's where the increase in cost would be for them. When you order 10 items, you may get it in 4 boxes, which is not cost effective.
Bratt, check USPS.com and see how much it costs to ship a 35 lb box via Priority before you say you're willing to pay for shipping. IMO shipping is expensive no matter how it's done, and I cringe every time I have to pay it, but what can you do?
WM just let me order a 32" tv with free shipping..to stx. One of their pre-black Friday specials. Says a month + to deliver...ordered two of them...
Well, we received all the 'stuff' we ordered from Walmart on Saturday TODAY! We saw the article this morning and decided to try another order. It accepted it and it indicates that it is processing. It even gave us a delivery date of Nov. 26.
You are right in that the problem with sending to VI Cargo is that sometimes, they put a bag of peanuts in a box the size of a refrigerator.
Today, we received 2 shipments. One was 2 bags of cashews in a box that was 15 x 15 x 6. If you shipped it to VI Cargo, the shipping would be twice as much as the cashews. CVS and Drugstore.com also have a number of food items but they don't come close to matching the Walmart prices. So, no more Hovensa, American Eagle, and now Walmart! I suspect that the next will be Home Depot!
american eagle the plane or the store?
To Beachy, if it is the Samsung Led you got, it is an awesome tv at an even better price!
Also, I ordered from WM a couple of weeks ago (various items), and ETA was December 12, but everything arrived in less then a week!

American Eagle, the airlines. Closing San Juan hub on Mar. 31 to most of the Caribbean except a few destinations DOM/EIS that cannot accept a 737. They will be closed as soon as another alternative can be made. Miami hub is done and I understand that SJU is no longer needed.
oh crap
Our thoughts exactly!
There is some good news. AA will be offering a second daily non-stop in the morning 3 days per week. At least that will allow for more connecitons in the MIA hub. Take a look at the American Eagle/Puerto Rico subject on the forum in the past couple of days. It has a lot of information from an AA employee that may be helpful. According to the AA employee, the morning flight may not be seasonal like it is now.
