What about the police helicopter that flies so low and hovers over downtown C'sted during Jump-up that you can't even hear the music playing? They must get one of those FAA waivers as well or else maybe next time we should report them to the FAA. Don't seem to be doing anything other than lurking and being annoying. And not even a VP at Jump-up.

I am not aware of the Virgin Islands Government operating any helicopters. Neither the Police Department nor the VI National Guard have any operating helicopters.

What makes you think that it was a police helicopter?

The agency which enforces the regulations is allowed to waive the regulations.

Pretty common sense.

My memory is a little fuzzy on it, I think it looked like a police helicopter with the labeling but I could be wrong. I think it also had search lights on it. Who's ever it was it definitely spent considerable time hovering around over the down town, would go from one spot to another and just hover for quite a while.

Sorry, I was not responding to rmb. I was responding to the fact that your last couple of comments seemed to indicate that you have a problem with the coast guard helicopter. I simply wanted to point out that the coast guard helicopter as well as the DEA helicopters which occasionally fly low over the VI are not operating illegally.

No offense intended.

No problem. As I stated, it's my dog that has a problem, not me. I worked in downtown DC for years and lived less than a half mile from a poorly guarded prison. So am pretty used to low flying helicopters. My only fear of them is being inside of one when it's not on terra firma.

thought the jump up helicopter was due to the filming of one of those reality shows?
