Volkswagen on St. Croix?
The only car we have is a 2000 VW Passat. Anyone own a VW on St. Croix? We're just wondering if that's a good car to bring down. Will repairs/maintenance be a nightmare - should we just sell it and get something else?
I searched the message board but did not see anything that directly answered my question.
Thanks

I have seen some German cars driving around. However, can't remember a German Car dealer.

I'm planning on moving down in December. I'm selling my car and buying a used jeep wrangler. My feeling is your on an island why wouldn't you want to enjoy the weather while your driving around, not that I'm planning on spending that much time in the car.
Also depending on what your VW is worth I would take the difference you profit when you sell it, if any, and use it for a down payment on a house or rent money when you get down to STX. JMO
Thanks for the info - lots of things to think about now that this looks as though it might materialize. I'd love to get a Jeep Wrangler, but I'm worried about having a car seat in the back. I've seen people do it - just not sure how safe it would be.

Sorry didn't know you had a child. I wouldn't want to take that chance by trying to put one in the back.
Dunno about VW's specifically, but getting parts can be a nightmare for foreign cars. I knew a guy who had a Saab and got rid of it after awhile because it took months for the needed parts to arrive on-island.
I can tell you that there is no VW dealership here.
