What part of the island are you staying on and are you renting a car?

Visit the Travel Message Board, instead of the Relocating Board....this board is geared towards those moving here...the other board is geared towards visiting...I'm sure you'll get more replies from the other board...

Cane Bay offers discovery scuba dive trips. Don't have to be certified. A quick lesson is given and you dive for anhour or so.the cost is about $50-60 per person itwill be an incredible experience for both of you. A less expensive alternative issnorkelingin the same area, rental equipment available. Snorkeling or diving a definate must.
Hiking is great, many hiking paths with incredible views and destinations.
Jumping off the pier in fredriksted. Horseback riding on beach and rainforest.
Your teenage girl may enjoy shopping in christiansted, many good local shops. Try ashas and stop at twin city coffe shop.
You may enjoy the crab races-tamrind reefon fridays. also at christian brew pub in christiansted and at divi resort but not sure what nites.
Definately take a drive thru the rainforest, stop at the domino club for a drink and visit the beer (non alcoholic ) drinking pigs.
Enjoy the sun, the sand and the sea and the many great restaurants.
These are a few of the things Ido with visitors.
Remember to greet all people with a good morning, good afternoon and good evening. Have a great time!

Thank you so much sheiba. Definitely going to Cane Bay as our local dive shop has scheduled a trip with them. I'm a PADI asst. instructor already and diving was on the list of things to check out. sorry guess I should've stated that in my post. What's your opinion of the rum distillery tours? Thanx

Do both rum tours - they are very different but both interesting.

Also consider taking either Tan-Tan Jeep tours or the island tour with Mr Sweeney. Maybe do both.
If you are golfers, try Buccaneer and Carabola courses.

When my daughters were that age, One stop they always loved was the Mango smoothy-petting zoo-mahagony woodworking place in the rain forest. (name please???) haven't been up there in awhile. I hope she's still around.
Sun set body surfing at Davis Bay was another favorite. They may have boogie boards to lend at carambola. We'd bring our own. Make sure she ties her suit securely--don't ask!
Shopping/photo op-ing in c-sted can be fun too.
Have fun!

The petting zoo was still there in April. It is just down the road from where the beer drinking pig are.

There are some bands that play that music, at varying venues. They're usually listed at http://www.stcroixcalendar.com/ but the trick is to know who plays what, and I haven't been keeping up with every act.

St. Croix Blues Society seems to be inactive at the moment, maybe just for the summer. Brian McCullough, Kurt Schindler and a few others play a mix of music that usually includes some of what you're looking for. Hopefully others will chime in.

On Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday (the 4th, 5th, and 7th) evenings, the ISS - International Space Station - will be gliding over the Virgin Islands! Your daughter will have the wonderful opportunity to see the space station up in our beautiful Caribbean sky.

I will be posting the schedule a couple of days ahead of ISS's arrival as a reminder.

Enjoy your vacation in the breath-taking beauty of the USVI! 😎
Swan,
