Visiting in August
My wife and I really want to visit the VI but, I can only get away in August. I know that this will be the high hurricane month there and I was wondering if anyone thought it would be ok. If we don't get out in August we will have to wait until next year, but we are DYING to visit. Would it be worth it for us to visit then or would it just spoil the entire trip. We were thinking of staying for about 2 weeks. Thanks!
it is hot in August...........and sometimes rainy for a day or so..............besides that it is absolutely beautiful.....I would take the trip.......I live here year round and I love the summers here..slow, quiet and the water is warm
We spent two weeks in Aug a year and a half ago, and it was fine. It depends on where you are from. We are from AZ., and we thought if this is all the hotter it gets, it's a piece of cake. The humidity was higher then we were used to, by with the ocean breeze and fans, we had no problems. If you are from the cold country, you mau think it's hot.
Thanks! We are from Texas, so the heat probably won't bother us too much.
I love it here in August but if hurricanes concern you just take out insurance - check out the following link

I grew up and went to college in central Illinois and have found the USVI to be a cool down in August. My first trip there was for my honeymoon, and it had been 105 degrees F with the humidity the day of my wedding in my hometown...we got to the USVI and were delighted to find much milder weather there that time of the year. I say go for it!
I say it is hot as "hell" in August. Could it be because I was pregnant! 🙂
