I am planning a pre-move visit sometime early April to visit some of the schools and I was told it would be smart not to visit during Carnival. I believe the schools are out on a certain day because of Carnival? I am trying to book my flight for April 11th through the 21st. Is Carnival after this? Would it be smart to experience Carnival while I'm there? Any thoughts and ideas would be great!

The carnival lasts the entire month of April but the big activities - parade, food fair, etc. take place the last week of April. Schools are off the last Friday of April for Children's Parade and many schools take the children on a field trip to the food fair. So the time you are coming is perfect for visiting the schools and you may be able to take in some of the music shows. Also there is a show at the hospital which is great to go to - gives you a taste of a lot of things from Carnival. It is usually on a Monday around 6PM the second Monday of April (I think).

Thanks, glynnswife! I want to see as much possible within the 10 days that I will be there and this sounds like a wonderful time to visit!
