Does this mean the taxi vans go towards Wendy's from town again and drop you off at the corner by Wendy's (sorry - I don't know any of the road names over there!)?
It's still blocked off as of about 12:30 PM. :S It's still the same as it was.
I have been feeding 2 feral cats. Just kittens really. This evening I go out to feed my chickens and one of the cats bit me. For the last two days they have been aggressive. Hissing and getting very close to me as I give them food. I don't know what I expected. Maybe some sweet kittens to nurture. In any case I had my rottie out with me as I was feeding the chickens and the cats and I said get the kitty kitty after the one bit me on the ankle . I didn't let my rottie hurt her only chase her away. Kitty kitty is her signal to chase and she did. I stopped her from going into the bush after the cat. I don't know what to do now. One of the cats has been stalking the chickens and I don't want her to hurt them. I also want to get them fixed so they don't make anymore babies. Any advice?
EGADS! Sorry to hear that, Tam. Get some ointment on it.
I thought you were gonna have a great moment to tell us about. Winning the trust of an untamed kitty is a special moment. The feral cats here in the islands are the meanest cats I've ever seen. They forego all the posturing, howling and hissing most cat fights start with. Their first instict seems to be to draw blood. Hmmm...not sure what to tell ya....
Does the animal shelter have traps you can borrow? If so, trap them & take to the Shelter or if you want to spend the $$, get them neutered yourself.
Delly Deck now has a dessert menu at each table. I don't know what's next - maybe a wine list? 😀
Took a down day yesterday and went to the beach with some friends and their little boy. We got there and unloaded and the boys took off about 50 yards down the beach. They kept going into the bush and bringing out saplings. After about 30 minutes they ran to get us. They had built a teepee. They made a tripod of logs and covered them with palm fronds. Decorated their home with vines and made carpet out of seagrass. Rocks for a path way into their shelter. A seriously great shelter. I was amazed. Keep in mind that they are only 6. After that they hopped on to their boggie boards with sharpened sticks for spears and went hunting for fish for dinner. Once we teach them to make fire they can survive on their own. Hubby says no about teaching them to make fire yet. I want to put them on the survivor show.
They're doing better than the idiots on Survivor!
Where do they get those people? I always watch the show but you are right they are idiots.
I think some have to flunk an IQ test but if you look OK almost naked (and you're female) you're in.
Tami, We have 4 feral kittens that we have been feeding. We will be getting traps, and getting them spayed / neutered. I did some research and the new the Sugar Mill Veterinary Center in Princesse has a program for $25.00, that included getting them fixed, and all the shots that are needed.
Unfortunately, the mother just had another litter, now we just have to catch her!
Dante
Thanks Dante.8-)
Hope today pans out to be a good one. It has been tedious with funeral preparations and what not. As more family arrives it will get better I suppose.
I know that's rough, Ronnie. I hope your mother is doing well handling all this.
Looks like the Sahara dust is back. Hope it keeps the hurricanes away for another month.
So that's why I feel so congested.
Nah...crownweather.com doesn't show any Sahara dust in our area

I can't even see Buck Island from my deck so I guess it's fog. :@)
It's just overcast.
At sea level???
Yup...low clouds. It's possibly fog but I doubt that the air temperature is cooler than the sea surface temperature. The current Saharan Dust Layer Analysis shows no dust in our area.
Whatever it is, my inhaler is working overtime. Fog???
LOL...no, it's not fog. I simply replied to your flippant remark with one of my own.
Heh heh, I'm cranky today. Perhaps it's best if I just sit on my hands 🙂
Bottom line...unless the dust analysis is dated, we don't have any dust in the area at present.
We sure have something! My eyes (my personal barometer) are starting to feel it, not to mention I can see it.
Yeah...it's a very strange weather pattern. Perhaps the dust analysis is incorrect. My eyes are beginning to react as well. I looked at the 5-day loop and it shows that all the dust disipated before it got to us. Strange....
This loop shows whatever it is that's sitting over us.
