Great lunch at Mahogany Run's Grill Room. They've got a great menu. I also heard some sad news. Ronnie's brother died last night. My sympathy goes out to him and his family.
So very sorry to hear that Ronnie. My sympathies to you and your family.
Cheryl
Hey Trade -- Glad to hear you liked the Grill Room! It became our hang-out about a year and a half ago, after Indigo changed hands. Last night Ronnie mentioned that Herbie died -- after spending nine months in the hospital. 🙁
Sorry for your loss Ronnie.
Thank you guys!
sorry Ronnie!
I always liked the Grill Room but they're even better now. Great menu & I'm still hooked on the artichoke dip.
I also heard Old Stone Farmhouse has been taken over by some stateside people & hope to be up & running by season.
Great news about Old Stone Farmhouse!
I agree. I hope they know their business.
If you can find it, get the Breyer's Waffle Cone Overload. OMG, wicked good. Tastes like smashed up ice cream drumsticks.
that is my favorite ice cream flavor next to phish food by ben & jerrys!
ronnie, sorry on the loss of your brother.
thanks to all for kind words on our teams being on the air during hurricanes hugo and marilyn... as long as we were working, it was hard to worry about anything. but once we went dark, we were engaged in keeping things from opening up and falling apart... fortunately that little station is built like a tank, and in spite of leaks and even an air conditioning unit that blew across the transmitter room, we kept our equipment and ourselves safe.
Tam, did you get the puppies yet?
No, I have not heard back from the man who has them yet. He said he would call us. We do however have 2 wild kittens that we are feeding. They are so cute. One is starting to let me get closer. Every evening when I feed the chickens she come out of the bush and meows for her food.
I would call him Tam. Sometimes you have to get his attention or he'll procrastinate. Maybe he's falling for them!:-o
Yes, I was thinking he fell in love with the puppies but I will call him.
Today JJ graduated from the little pool to the big olympic pool in swim class today. No warning just JJ jump into the big pool. I know he has been snorkeling in the ocean for a long time now but this is the big pool without mom and dad. I could tell he was scared. I was terrified but he jumped right in and started swimming. An olympic size pool is very big and long. At first it was ok. They just had to swim to the next cone placed on the side of the pool. He asked me every time to tell him when to stop and I did. Then the coach told them to swim from one end to the other. My heart was racing for him. The coach said to the kids who thinks they can make it without holding on to the side. JJ raised his hand. I thought oh no. Off he goes. Half way I could see he was struggling. He would stop and tread water for a moment and then give me a thumbs up. Three quarters of the way he is really struggling and I yell grab on to the side. He shakes his head no and quits freestyle swimming and goes underwater where he swims the best and makes it to the end of the pool. He climbs out of the pool shaking with exhaustion. I want to go and hold him but I don't. The coach asks are you tired and all the kids say yes. He asks them why they are tired and then he looks at JJ and says I know why you are tired. JJ just looks at him. He says you are 6 and you have never done this before in your life. I was so proud of him, my little man, but sad at the same time. He has left baby, toddler behind. I am no longer the center of his world. Off he goes.
Aww, I remember those times! Tam, you will always be the center of his universe! I love it when my 22 yr old daughter calls me from Florida where she's finishing up school to get advise or to cry. I miss her, wish she would move here but this definitely does not fit her style. She needs the faster pace of the city, restaurants to chose from, shopping....ah, the shopping how I do miss that right now!
Today is ridiculously clear, right now on my balcony I can see clearly Virgin Gorda...amazing Just feed the sugar birds and the are going nuts, splashing the sugar all over the place, oh well will have to get the mop out later (td). But they are so fun to watch, they have figured out that my cat, named Fish!, is not going to do anything at all about them encroaching on his turf. He usually hides on a balcony chair or under a drying beach towel and does the cat chirp and wiggles his butt, but that is all that he does.
Ahh, a beautiful morning...now if I can just get my neighbors yappy dog to shut up life will be perfect!
Have a great day everyone!
ohhh, did you see that they opened the "new"road to KMart and Lockhart area??? I was so confused, didn't know exactly where to go!
Cheryl
About time there was a JJ story! I'll check out the new road today. Can you go to K-Mart now from Wendy's without circling around?
Starting to meet lots of new faces and becoming friends with them all. Great bunch of folks. Going out this weekend to hear a fantastic guitarist that plays classical and flamenco style at a resort where the view is breath taking. And it's free, except for the adult beverages, of course... Met a retired guy who has been in radio and TV almost as long as me. Needless to say, we hit it off right away and he's given me lots of information for networking with them. And he's been taking me around to the local haunts to meet the locals. Good times.
Got an email yesterday from the local tv station. He wants to talk. Also dropped off a demo with a radio station for possible vo's. And one of the resorts said they'd call me to shoot weddings when the high season starts in December. So things seem to be falling into place, work wise. Hope so.
All this and an island car too! Still have to pinch myself... Not while driving, though :}
Novanut, it sounds like things are going great for you. I will keep my fingers crossed about a job. (tu)
Trade~yes you can get to Kmart now from Wendys, we no longer need to make that huge, time consuming loop!
Great! Thanks. But I hope the traffic doesn't start clogging up again. It was better with the detour.
