They showed members of the Bourne family of STT out on the plaza. Virgin Islands got a shout out!

It's always fun when you see people you know on TV. They looked like they were having a great time!

What was the Bourne family connection to the clip? What was the clip about? Which plaza?

The Today Show on NBC was the number 1 morning show for years, because the hosts were so well-liked (Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, etc). The ABC morning show has been more popular the last year or so, and has caused much grief for the people at NBC.

The shows are filmed in NY, and the Today Show for years has invited viewers to stand outside the studio in "the plaza" at Rockefeller Center in hopes of getting their name/face on national tv. Visitors show up as early as 5 a.m. to get a good spot on the plaza so they can be in the first row of the crowded plaza so they can be seen. Some hold up signs saying where they're from, or signs sending greetings, or signs letting hosts know where they're from. It's a very popular NY tourist activity, and is one of the many free tv show participation attractions in the city. No tickets required like with many other shows.

The host (Carson Daly?) passed by the Bourne family and somehow they caught the attention of the host and were able to give a shout out to the Virgin Islands. It happened very quickly, but I had time to discern who at least one of them was.

It's a very big deal if the host stops in front of you and gives you an opportunity to be seen/heard. Very big deal.

Ah yes, I'm not a stranger to the show but was confused as my first reaction was that the show had done a segment of some kind on St Thomas. Oh my.
