Hello everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. I had some damage to my home and need to some help with porch railings. The previous railing was wood and I was planning on changing it in a few years, but Maria made that happen sooner than later. My question is that I cannot find composite or vinyl railings at Home depot on their website. Is there someone on island that does carry this or is it going to be special order? I prefer not to ship it down, but if I need to, I want to start planning on this for when I do come down in a few months. Any help locating this would be greatly appreciated or at least let me know if HD does carry it, but it's just not on their website.

Thanks.

I doubt HD would carry much of that, if any. You would not get the best from HD. Often it's special order from the distributors in the states as well. I've ordered it in the states. If you can get free shipping within the states to Miami the additional freight to STX is reasonable. There are several manufacturers, some pros and cons with each. I think I used TimberTech. You should be able to find distributors with display samples in the states.

Thanks, I'm surprised HD doesn't carry as it seems it would make sense to have a product that will withstand the elements better and almost maintenance free. I work for Lowe's and will probably order it from a store in Miami and then have it shipped over. My concern with that, is if I'm short on something or had extra I really cant return it easily without shipping back, so I have to have really good measurements prior to ensure I have everything I need. That's why I was hoping something on island, just in case.

Well fortunately those railing kits are pretty cut-and-dried basic so it doesn't take a lot of fine estimating down to the mm to get an accurate material list. As long as you have all your basic dimensions and post locations figured out you should be OK.
