What a GREAT place! Glad I found it and delighted to read everyone's accounts of island living. Thanks!
I'm really interested in living in paradise and am even more interested in learning whether there are any job prospects in Video production, Graphic/Animation, Television. I searched out a PBS station and sent them a resume but, in reading some of your posts, don't think I'll hear from them anytime soon. That is my trade and what I enjoy the most, but I've held down numerous titles over the last 40+ years and am not adverse to getting my hands dirty. Could there be an opportunity for opening some type of video production business? Weddings, vacations, birthdays, etc.? Think the hotels could help promote "Vacation Videos"? And finally, is there room on the island for my 1963 Nova Convertible, and would it last longer than a year in the sea breezes?
Thanks again for all the posts! I live in the desert southwest and it's hard to concentrate on much else lately after finding your site.
Have a Great Day and KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!
John

Welcome to the board NovaNut! You've come to the right place. What island are you interested in? I'd say that it seems that if your a motivated entrenupeur (sp?), and have some spare capital, that there is room for business development and your Nova too...

Eve, Thanks for the welcome. This really is a great site for newbies like me interested in moving to paradise. I just zipped off an email to the TV station in hopes they still have an opening. Think I can find some kind of hovel on a salary like that? Are there several stations on the island? My wife is a nurse and child birth educator. Think she will have trouble finding work?

This is exciting. KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!
Thanks again,
John
