VI residents have you received your stimulus check yet?

I haven't gotten mine either & we have the same last 2 SS numbers. :-X

Yeah, it sucks. When you owe the VI govt, they certainly CHARGE us interest! And didn't they promise that they would be sent out by June?

I might call the IRB just for the heck of it, to see what they're gonna tell me....

I'm still waiting for my 2005 IRB tax refund, and I expect interest. My 2006 IRB tax refund eventually arrived, with interest. Perhaps if the stimulus checks aren't sent in a timely fashion they too will include interest?

I never get refunds any more. I thought they were better about paying them. That's a shame. Maybe we ought to storm the ramparts or appear en masse & demand our $$. HA!

Received my stimulus check a couple weeks ago. One week before the check arrived, I received a letter from them that the check would be arriving soon. Then the $600 check came just like they warned me.

Received ours Monday 🙂 🙂 🙂

I haven't called the IRB yet (haven't had the time or energy) but I might do so today. It IS encouraging that a few people are getting them, though...anyway I'll keep you posted!

I think here you got it in the same order you filed. I have friends who filed early and have had theirs for weeks. We filed last day.

DL - what date did you file? I think they are being sent by date filed. I have called IRB twice and all they do is put the call through to someones voice mail and they never call you back - typical!

Voicemail here is a nightmare. NOBODY answers their phone. I've even entered zero to get the receptionist at a bank & got the receptionist's voicemail.

I filed in early April.

Thanks for the response. I guess that blows the theory that they are sending them by file date. I filed the last week of March and have not gotten mine yet.

Question, if you had to pay taxes instead of receiving a rebate check, are you still eligible for a stimulus check? I never really paid attention to the how stimulus thing, but since so many people keep bringing it up, I'm getting curious!

If you did not pay all taxes owed, the check will be applied to what you owe.
That is at least for mainlanders who still owe more than the check was.

I paid the taxes I owed so I assume I'm still eligible. I didn't know that about the unpaid taxes.

Ok, well maybe I should look out for a check, I payed all my taxes, so lets see!!

I paid days before the April 15th deadline, and my check arrived last weekend.

filed tax return mid-March - still no refund and still no stimulus check. But I did get a note telling me I have to file self-employment tax to IRS instead of IRB, and my return has been adjusted accordingly - so my refund should be slightly more than I thought - almost $200!
