*Are there any major grocery chains on any of the three main islands. We have family members with limited diets (Vegan) and would like to make sure that they will be provided for. Any local VI grocery is preferable... numbers or names would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank You for this service.

An interesting thing about the VI is that there are quite a number of Rastafarians and Seventh Day Adventists, groups which tend toward vegetarianism. The major grocery stores are Pueblo (out of Puerto Rico) and a couple of locally owned stores (Plaza Extra and Food Center). There are several smaller stores such as Gourmet Gallery and Marina Market, which would probably have more items that you need. Additionally, there are "health food" stores like Natural Food Grocery and the Adventist Food Center. Pass the mung beans!!! (P.S. These are all on St Thomas, but I imagine St Croix is similar.)

St. Croix has all the same stores, as well as a couple of rasta restaurants.
Try Vegitarian Soul Food in Sunny Isle.
Veggie is definately a popular lifestyle choice in the VI. You shouldn't have any touble finding all the soy and tofu your vegan heart desires.
