St Croix organized clean-up groups have started getting cooperation and assistance from VIWMA. Last clean-up I went to, we carried our haul out to a main road for VIWMA pick-up within a few days. These photos weren't our piles, but that may be the case here too. Or, it may be waiting for someone with a truck and some time to haul it. The time and expense needed to gather it into one place is commendable in its own right. It's sweaty, dirty, scratchy work. The spray paint is probably out of frustration, or an attempt to nudge public attitude in the right direction.

It's hard to figure out the message. Obviously there was an organized trash pick-up. But the spray paint? Were they thanking the litter patrols? Encouraging more pick-ups? Criticizing the litterers? Criticizing a late pick-up?

Jeeze! This is easy to figure out.

This is one guy doing his part, and trying to shame our obviously shameless litterers and appliance dumpers.

According to FB this guy is doing above and beyond his part. Criticize if you must but I'm gonna do the same thing. Police a road, bag up the trash, paint VI NICE on them for people to see, then drive the same route with my truck to collect them and take to dump.

Only a problem when it sits and sits and sits. I have already taken 2 loads to dump site. There was a suggestion to ask Timmy Duncan to do an anti- litter TV spot. Maybe Busspipe ? Thought it was a good idea.

How about everyone contacting VIWMA and requesting they get on it and do their job by getting those contracted and paid by them to do their jobs.
