VI more in debt than PR per capita

I was really more interested in facts than estimates but assume (maybe wrongly) that "federal allocation" based on population will continue to be based on 2010 figures, only readjusted when the 2020 census is completed. By that time the USVI figures (if in fact they have significantly declined) will likely have stabilized with ArcLight's operation of the storage facility providing additional jobs with a concomitant trickle-down effect.

Much can happen in the next four years. Mr Trump may even decide to build a mammoth golf course and resort emblazoned with his brand although our present governor may object to having the rug pulled out from under him ... one just never knows.

Those estimates were quoted in more than one online source, but 2 years isn't that long a gap between population studies, so hopefully someone will publish an official one soon and it will be widely distributed online. There are estimates for people currently leaving PR, but those are much larger numbers in total so of course those get the attention.

ArcLight is only hiring a fraction of what Hess employed. It's no longer about the number of jobs and employees but how much revenue ArcLight provides the government. The promise of jobs is a smokescreen IMO.

Census is done every 10 years.

I am not referring to the census, but other local articles and from comments made in this forum before and after Hess closed.

It's easier to get a thesis published than post on this forum.

Mapp wants 4 star resort-Trump can build it.:D
Then we won't need to spend $1 million of taxpayers money to find a brand.

Oh, it's not a problem. We'll just borrow another 100 Million plus again to balance the planned expenditures.

You really don't expect them to do anything to significantly reduce costs, do you?

OT - although our present governor may object to having the rug pulled out from under him ..

Since he is over in China perhaps he is looking for some of those beautiful Chinese rugs?

I'm sure if none is offered, he'll be spreading hints as wide as he belly! Smaller ones to fit the dreamed-of ceremonial vehicles too.
