The following was taken from the Source about the VI constitution. What in the heck is wrong with Mr Aldebert Bryan...? He seems to think that other people are coming here to take the islands away from him. Pointing at the newly elected Craig Barshinger and saying the things he said makes him look like quite the racist... Is this the USA? Does he now know that the USA is made up of all different types of people, different races, different religions, different cultures etc...Its what makes us great. It seems to me that Mr Bryan just wants his own country/state of "his"people. Who are "these people" he refers to? I have never met the man, but everything i read and hear makes me think this guy is bad news... Heres a snip from the article in the source:

After this statement, he proceeded to shout about the dangers posed by outsiders.
"We have all these strangers trying to determine our future," Bryan shouted, pointing at Delegate Craig Barshinger. "They come to take these islands away from us, and if they have to transport 5,000 pregnant women here to take it away, they will do it. So there is no compromising with these people."
He continued to point at Barshinger the entire time he shouted about outsiders taking over.
Bryan said there were seven native Virgin Islanders on the constitutional convention, who he said should be ashamed of themselves if they do not support his view. He said he objected to the other 23 elected delegates voting on the issue.

Voting yea to move the definition were Bryan, Brodhurst, Gerard Emanuel, Mario Francis, Lois Hassell-Habtes, Stedman Hodge Jr., Myron Jackson, Gerard "Luz" James, Wilma Marsh Monsanto, Mary Moorhead, Eugene "Doc" Petersen, Kendall Petersen, Clair Roker, Lawrence Sewer, Elsie Thomas-Trotman, Robert Schuster and Alecia Wells.

Voting nay were Craig Barshinger, Douglas Brady, Douglas Capdeville, Arnold Golden, Violet Annee Golden, Frank Jackson, Cain Magras, Thomas Moore and Richard Schrader. Absent were Michael Thurland, Charles W. Turnbull, Arturo Watlington and Lisa Williams.

What is amazing to me is that he keeps getting re-elected to office. That obviously means there is a sufficient contingent who believe his baloney and are backing him up as one of "his people". The first few years I voted here it was almost amusing but the man has lost none of his anger. He does not build things up. He only tears them down. Shame, shame, shame on anyone who promotes racism in any form or fashion.

It's disgusting, isn't it? Senator Bryan is a complete and utter racist (not to mention, a murderer) who would rather see this island be wiped clean of anyone who isn't like him. Yet he keeps getting voted in...He needs to understand that the "outsiders" are the ones actually bringing prosperity to this island. But he won't.

But...THANKFULLY...he was not voted in as a senator in the 2008 elections.

Pamela: He has not been elected to the last two legislatures, I believe. Until we get numbered seats or districting, he will have a constituency.

@ nforbes (or anyone else who can answer) -- a murderer? Hadn't heard that before -- what's the story there?

The 5,000 pregnant women comment should be enough of a clue for anyone that this guy has more than a couple of screws loose. Points for creative paranoia, I suppose....

He is supposedly an expert marksman but got in an argument with his own son & shot him. Claimed self-defense & got away with it. He could have shot the son in the knee but now our dear Adelbrain...

He's also a looter.

He is a retired police captain. He also was caught in the looting frenzy after Hugo. And he killed a cow. And he assaulted a Daily News reporter. The list goes on and on. Someone should write a book.

Didn't he shoot his son in the back, as he was running away, and wasn't he having an affair with the son's wife or girlfriend?

I also herd he was having an affair with his sons girlfriend(and was told that what was real reason for the shooting).
I remember wearing a old camera at the old Yacht haven whenever he would arrive at the sea plane dock!<<(the Daily news reporter had his camera smashed for taking his picture).
I`m told there is a video that plays for the tourist that has Bert driving with the stolen merchandise(showing Hugo footage),but I haven't confirmed this myself(anyone in STX)?
I also remember the gun permit was predated he shot his son with & was shown in the Daily news(the word processor software used the correct date).
Can someone confirm(either way) that Bret was police chief during the Fountain Vally murders??
Ah, Bert, you know I love him!

Adelbrain was a police captain on STX when he looted after Hugo. He wasn't police chief during Fountain Valley.

It's to bad that the Constitutional Convention Delegates don't get it. A constitution is not written to exclude but include people and define their rights. Any language that gives some residents (citizens) and not others priviliges because of their birth place won't fly.

They tried to do the same thing in Hawaii. It didn't work there. We are are a Country of equal rights not rights because of where you where born.

Some of them are there for the per diem, the publicity & those meals the hotel provides. How many times were they not there for the votes but never missed a meal? And we get to pay for this nonsense.

Um, I agree!
I have always been amused by addelbrains antics!
I also like the way he would shut the lights when another senator was speaking, quite the gentleman!
I think i`ll have him over for a beach BBQ, that would be pleasent.

I wonder what it would take to "impeach" him from the convention?
