Dr. Tripp Stewart owns Imerial Animal Hospital and he is fantastic (Dr. Tracey Hall, too). His office is at 3901 Contant, Suite A, St. Thomas, VI 00802
Ph# 340-774-7034

Contant isn't exactly IN town, but it's only about a 3 minute drive.

And, IMHO, stay away from Dr. Williamson. Some people swear by him, but he nearly killed my dog, and cost me $3K to boot. My dog got tick fever and, while Dr. Williamson DID treat him intially, and did all the right things, when I boarded Freddy (my dog) for a week while I went to the States, when I got Freddy back, we pulled 22 ticks off of him! 22!! And this is a dog that had tick fever and almost died? You'd think they would make sure to keep ticks away from him. And, in his older years, Dr. Williamson is still good with animals, but he's awful with humans. Go to Dr. Tripp.

Ditto Marty's comments (I remember your situation with Freddy!). While living on St. T, I had the pleasure of working for Dr. Tripp, and he is a very capable, caring, dynamic young man with a fantastic staff of technicians. I think you'll be pleased with the level of care you receive there!

Hey Piscesgirl, as a fellow pisces I am interested in what being so close to the beautiful Carribean water will do for my spirit. It may be a silly question or you may completely understand what I'm talking about. I feel that being there will bring my life into alignment, mind, body and spirit. Since I have not arrived yet I would like to know your take on the vibe and the life style and how your spirit feels there. Thanks, from a fellow emotional, spiritual, intuitive, creative, sensative, crazy pisces girl.

We also go to Dr. Tripp Stewart, and have been so pleased. He genuinely cares for animals, and is personable, frank, and sincere.
We've had nothing but good experiences with him and his staff. Great vet!

Imperial Animal Hospital is located on the hill above the main Banco Popular branch. Near the jr. high, Sea Chest, etc.

Hi Elise! Sorry, been away from the board for a day or two. Please e-mail me directly - I'll be happy to share my experience with a fellow Piscean!

Hi Everyone,

I found this 2004 posting regarding veterinarians and wondered if this was still pretty current information or if anyone had any comments (or contacts) to add to it.

I would like to get my elderly cat established with an STT vet sometime in the near future.

Thanks 🙂

Albeit a little tardy in my response, I feel I do have stick my neck out here in support of Dr. Andrew Williamson.

I'm sorry that Marty had a negative experience with Andy but as a 21 year STT resident, perpetual animal-caregiver and saviour, befriender of strays, one of the many spay-neuter island individuals who works tirelessly to reduce the animal population, and as a former President of the Humane Society of STT, I just have to speak up for Doc.

Yes, he is indeed a most miserable old curmudgeon and I've certainly had my run-ins with him over the years. However, I can tell you from first-hand experience that Andy truly cares for the animals which cross his portal and he has always been a champion about getting up from his bed late at night or in the early hours of the morning to respond to an emergency call.

He has never suffered human fools but he's very rarely let down an animal and his dedication to the animal community here has yet to be surpassed. Yes, Andy is "different" and his bedside manner with people has always left much to be desired, but he's a first-class veterinarian.

And that's just MHO! Cheers,
