Very special guest for Mardi Croix!
The Krewe de Croix received the green light from NASA in Houston to host Astronaut Leland Melvin as the Grand Marshall of this year's Mardi Croix parade. The theme is "Blast into Outer Space". Mr. Melvin is hoping to speak with many children about his experiences. He has flown two Shuttle missions to the International Space Station, the latest one being in November, 2009. The parade starts at Cane Bay Beach and travels the North Shore to Sylvie's. The parade starts at 12 o'clock sharp on Sat., Feb 13th! Bring the family and enjoy seeing a working astronaut close up!!!! Get some friends together and put together a float, a beach chair precision brigade, music, animals or a space ship (if you have one) and be part of the parade! Contact Tom Tiblier, the Krewe Captain at 626-5798.
Totally awesome! Great news!
that'sway cool,I hope my GS can get there. He's into it!
Leland is an amazing guy! He is our neighbor here in our small little town south of Houston! Hopefully, he will bring some of his photos from the missions to show the children. His excitement for the space program is contagious and hopefully he will be able to pass those dreams on to another child. Please welcome him with open arms.
