V.I. jobs
I have tried several times to search job board and there are not any jobs at all??
Not any/// can someone help please. I have been in sales for the past 10 years, and have a very impresive track record.
you should check out the VI daily news online. and while you're at it, check out the island trader. i think you can call the VI daily news, ask for the circulation dept., and they'll mail you a copy.
thank you Celeste...
Hello Salesman,
Which island are you interested in? In most cases to land a job in sales/retail you need to be on island, and at the right time; beginnng months of high season. There are numerous jewerly, art, electronics, watch... stores, particularly on St. Thomas but also on St. Croix & St. John. Our season runs from around Nov to May. Aug-Oct are the slower of the off-season. Other sales jobs you might look into are vacation packages/time share at resort properties.

Thanks to you also Islander.. I am currently the General Sales Manager for a Dodge Chrysler Jeep Store in the mid west and would prefer to stay in the car biz. maybe even get into some importing/wholesale used cars. If there is a big demand for fair priced quality vehicles.
I was an Asst. Manager at a C/PJ/E store before I moved to STT and I wouldn't want to be in the car business here. It's just my opinion, though. Think about it...only 55K people here, the majority are not wealthy and can not afford a brand new car (before anyone slams me, I said "the majority"!! Some can, some can't. More old cars on the road than new ones), and used cars are in abundance, as this is an island and they don't go away. To the wreck heap, yes, but away, no. I can't say for sure, but the odds on you making anywhere close to what you make now are very slim if you stay in that business here. I switched to timeshare when I got here and I actually made more that I did in Michigan. And I was always number 1 in sales, as well as my over-rides as the asst., and I made over 100K my first year here.
Marty- makes perfect sence.. I may have to look into other sales options.
Marty, since you were also in the car biz I'm sure you know all about the hours I work, So what I was wanting to know is what kind of hours did you have to work in order to maintain that income level? I too have always been the #1 salesman so lets just say that I am equal to you in sales ability. just curious as to what kind of free time I would have with my family? Thanks again for your help and God Bless

My first six months I worked with tourists that were brought in by the 'kidnappers' on the street. I only worked from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., sometimes till 3. And I worked 4 days on, then 2 off, then 4 on, 2 off, etc. Then I got promoted and the hours became brutal, but it was still fun. After a few more promotions, it just got worse, and not nearly as fun. Gee, I guess I shoulda stayed at the bottom! Haha!
Iris,
Please e-mail me at limin@surfvi.com. I tried to e-mail you,but it didn't work.
Thanks,
