Hello All,

I checked online to see if having a brother with a policy would make me eligible but the choices were limited to spouse, parents, or yourself. Does this mean I'm S.O.L.?

I think the relative has to be your mom or dad. VT

Call them. As i understand it once a family is in, they're in.

Okay, I called them. The rep confirmed it's limited to having a spouse or parent. Brother won't cut it. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Thanks for the quick responses!

Not sure about that but as far as the auto policies go.....Everyone is eligible to purchace their auto insurance but if you are not a veteran or family member you fall under a differrent category and they will sell you a policy contracted through Progressive at a higher rate, the higher rate is still lower than island insurance.....

USAA does provide renters insurance in the USVI but does not yet provide homeowners policies. The last time we spoke to them we were told they had been working on providing homeowners here. If anyone is eligible and interested please call USAA and express your interest. I was told the more they hear it the more likely they are to move it along.

also a step parent counts. my dad was a vet but deceased but i got my step father to join and under him we (sisters) are all eligible even though we are adults and not adopted by him.

wish USAA would cover health insurance down here.
