"UPS" scam alert!
I received a telephone call this morning from a Hispanic gentleman advising that he was with UPS and that my name had been chosen as the winner of $2.5 million and a Mercedes Benz. Wow, all my worries are over! He said that whenever I go shopping at my favorite stores and supermarkets I'm automatically registered to be in the drawing and that if I was "interested in claiming this prize" he would connect me with his manager. I asked him how much it would cost me, he said his manager would explain everything, I said I wasn't interested and hung up. The 'phone immediately rang again and I let it go to voicemail and the caller hung up.
I immediately notified UPS and also DCLA. Just wanted to give people on here a heads-up!
You should have told him to deduct the "claim money," from your $2.5 Million, put the rest in the truck of your new Mecedes Benz and drive it over to you, pronto!
you should have "played" with him a bit, find out what the cost was to you
Or just say, "Terrific! Now, what is the handling fee for this, and should I send it to you in cash, gold, or Western Union?"
When I have time I "play" with craiglist rental scammers and totally waste their time with great glee but I was all caught up with some outside projects today so ... Anyway, I had fun doing some planting while fantasizing about what I would do with such a lovely windfall and wondering how long the Merc would stay pristine. Sigh. 😀
They actually have a sign and rack cards at the Post office telling seniors to watch out for the scammers telling you about winning. Had to take one for my mother who got such a call.
OldTart it must be an English thing as I do the same thing 🙂

ps: hope you are doing well xxx
