University of the Virgin Islands and some other Q's
I'm a twenty year old student looking to transfer to UVI. Is there anybody who can tell me about the university's academic quality, aesthetics/atractiveness, social/community programs, or about relations between islanders and mainlanders?
I would also like to know if there are many other 20 somethings who come to stay on St. Thomas, what people enjoy doing, and friendliness etc...
Thanks!
I am 21, and I am most likely coming next March. I have looked into UVI, because I will have two classes to take in order to finish up a psych minor (I graduate here in PA in December). From what I looked into UVI seems like a typical state school here in PA...pretty nice. There are a lot of people on this board talking about moving down that are around our age. Maybe someone who goes there could answer more questions about the school though...
Actually i wouldn't describe as a typical state school at all. I'm not saying it as a bad thing. Maybe Islander can give some more insight.
The campus is very nice.
When I wandered around looking for something else people there where very friendly and helpful.
Last time I looked the computer sciences web site did not work. Heh.
Theres lots of 20's people here. Im 24. But people don't necessarily group by ages groups.
For fun. There's not really much to do here. It's pretty shitty weather and a boring place over all...
Hello I transfered to UVI in January and I am enjoying my new life here. The campus is beautiful and we are so blessed to have a beach a 5 minute walk away. Lots of young people, but I think making good friends is up to the effort that you put out. People are friendly if you are friendly first, We have about one of every type of person here so there is lots of potential. Feel free to e-mail with any other questions. Any where you go there are positives and negatives but happiness is inturnal, life is what you make of it.
