TRW murdered last night
In Memory of Troy. Peace
Swan
I knew Troy though his writing on this board. I met him years ago while he was working before his life started going out of control. It's too bad that this happened . My condolences to all his friends and family.
Sometimes we forget that we are talking to real people "online". TRW always brought a pathos and reality that often was too painful to feel comfortable with. When I went back and read some of the older posts from years ago, I am reminded of the of that discomfort. He was a real person that shared a part of his life with us online. How sad it ended this way.
Wow... I always found his posts so helpful but never met him in life. Does anyone happen to have a picture of him?

He did have a blog. His last entry was in March 2010. He was trying to clean up his life.
Rest in Peace!
Someone mentioned that TRW worked at Angry Nate's at some point... Could it have been around May of 2010? I was in there and talking to a server that kinda makes me thing it was him. The guy I am thinking of was very clean cut, mustache and very much an ambassador of STX as someone mentioned. I hope somebody has a picture. This is all very chilling to hear. Rest in peace.
Brandon
Brandon - Troy was clean-cut, had a mustache, and very little hair.
Troy was my brother. The first of my family to live in the Virgin Islands. He loved it here. And yes, as is clear to all who knew him, Troy was a truly unique and troubled soul. I just hope he has finally found some peace.
Ashley, sorry for your loss.
troy did work at angry nates a while back, he was a wonderful server. ashley, i am so sorry for your loss and i too, hope he is at peace.
So sorry Ashley, for your loss. His torment is over now. A lot of people liked, loved and cared about and for your brother, and he will be greatly missed by many who knew him. Know that, and that his life was not for nothing. He meant a lot to a lot of people. RIP Troy. You and your family will be in our thoughts for a long time to come.
Ashley, very sorry for your loss.
Ashley - My wife & I met Troy many years ago while vacationing here on STX. After moving here several years ago we would see him from time to time. He did not deserve this horrible fate. We offer our deepest sympathies to you.
This is horrible news!! 🙁
Even worse is the fact that this is just business as usual on STX. Crime has always been an issue here, but the last few years it's really escalated to another level. Now, we have the unhappy burden of knowing that a regular contributor to this very message board was brutally murdered. Ugh. Makes me fuc*ing sick.
AshleyJoy,
So sorry for your loss.
Your brother had a kind soul. We had 2 stray dogs that we found and he had no problem stepping up and saying he would take them, which he did.
So sad that this happened.
I am heartbroken and outraged. Nobody deserves the fate that met Troy, no matter WHAT choices they make or what their particular demons are. I'm sure we all have darkness in our souls, which we battle as best as we can. Troy was a beacon of hope for those struggling in many ways, and his writings were entertaining, bright, thought-provoking, naked, and insightful. Ashley I am so sorry that you lost your brother in this horrific manner.
Where did his thread go? That needs to be published.
I only met Troy once briefly while he was working and interacted on the forum with him. He was a champion for diversity on STX. Like Brinni said we all have our demons and troubles but no matter what the circumstances he died needlessly. He definitely made an impression and he loved this crazy place. He had a direct connection to the coconut telegraph and knew everything about everyone. I follows his sporadic blog and became concerned when he got quiet. I chocked it up to computer problems or a new friend not the darkness others described. All I can hope that is his killer is brought to justice and he is content. Ashley, thanks for coming in and having somewhere to direct my grief and sympathy. I'm sure Troy will relentlessly haunt his killer and the North Shore. I also hope he is remembered as one of the unique characters that makes this place unique. Hope you are in a good place, Troy.
WOW!!!! I get censored and this doesn't ???? Back to my waterboarding
I didn't see Poortang's post before it was pulled, so I don't know what it said.
I saw Linda J's and see no reason why that was pulled. She spoke the truth. Not directly about TRW, but the drug lifestyle if my memory serves me correctly. Nothing about his sexual orientation or his character.
This new poster (caracas88) don't know what s/he about. But looks like s/he has an ax to grind.
When you are into drugs, you are going to end up in 1 of 2 places - jail or dead. And it doesn't say how & when you are going to end up those one of those 2 places or both down the road. It will eventually catch up with you.
Ever watch the show Intervention? It shows you people dealing with addictions. It is sad. They can be the nicest people and master manipulators at the same time. Being an addict will make you do things you normally wouldn't do if you were not one.
I have dealt with people with addictions. It is a hard to watch someone you care for go down a sprial and hopefully find their way back up, without losing them one way or the other.
I have compassion for fellow human beings and don't speak ill of the dead.
Rest in Peace, Troy Weiss. Ashley all my best for you and your family.
Wow,my first pulled post!! I'm really surprised. I knew and liked Troy personally and I am sorry that I offended Sally, who does seem to have a problem with me. Oh well. I hope most people realize there is a difference between "cause and effect" and someone "deserving" what happens to him. In no way should Troy's live have ended as it did.
I have compassion for fellow human beings and don't speak ill of the dead.
Right on.
Plain and simple rule: Don't speak ill of the dead. Seriously. Targeting a soul who can't defend itself? THAT is true evil.
Edit: Offending post is gone.
