Tropical Depression 15

I bought a little AM/FM/weather radio last night (found my walkie talkie sized NOAA weather radio AFTER that, of course).

Neither picks up the NOAA broadcast. Checking the NOAA website, my location on STT is in the "unreliable" radio reception zone.

Bummer. Guess I won't be able to track the storm once the power goes out, unless some local stations have a generator and continue broadcasting. I don't like the idea of being completely without information.

Hi, this is my first hurricane. We have been getting things ready. Our old 2 floor building up behind cuzzins and subway off of back street on STT seems to be a fortress so we are staying here. Would you hunker down on the upper (flooding) or lower (roof gone)? Its not too late to do either one. Thanx for any advice.

I just woke up & nothing much seems to have happened here on STT other than the earlier rains. Have to check where Omar's hanging out but I can hear the tree frogs but can't look out since the shutters are all closed up.

It's as calm as calm can be outside. Last report was he is 70 miles north of St Maarten! I never heard anything last night.

Ronnie: That is because your house was built for the ages! The rain seemed to me the worst early yesterday afternoon. I heard Brookman road collapsed, but I am putting it down to rumor so far. The road by the (new!) racetrack was like a whitewater river at 2 pm- I wonder what that looks like now.

Been keeping track of the islands since early yesterday morning. Seems to me from all the reports that STT STJ STX have all faired pretty well. Watching this state side and would love to hear from all of you to know all is ok. We are 9 days out until our move and will contact my tenant as soon this morning to find out if they are ok. Anybody got any pics they would like to share of the damages?
God willing eveything is OK
And I pray for whomever my have to suffer due to all the rains and wind.
Take Care
Kim

Ditto SunnyD. Watching from PA. We are due in Friday (STX) and want to know what we are getting into. Haven't heard from the neighbors yet so don't know what condition our house and car are in. We're inland out near Tamarind Reef. All we are seeing in the news except for one shot of Gallows Bay is Puerto Rico.
Thanks for the earlier posts. Hope you all weathered the storm OK.
