Traveling nurses need housing?

My room-mate bought a boat and moved onto it, so I have an extra bedroom in my place at the end of a dead end road, right by Limetree Beach (Bluebeard's Beach Club)...about a 12 minute ride to the hospital -Schneider Regional Medical Center -I also sell medical equipment and supplies to the hospitals and doctors here, so I am familiar with SRMC...I spend a week to ten days on STT, making daily trips to SRMC, then go to STX and spend a week to ten days going to JFL, then come back to STT, sometimes throw in a 3 day to 10 day trip to America or Puerto Rico in between. In any case, my absence is more than 50%. The extra room for rent in my apartment is the larger of the two, with A/C, with a doorwall going out onto the deck overlooking the Caribbean and Bluebeard's Beach Club (Limetree Beach, which is walk to-able) and we are situated at the end of a dead end road. If any traveling nurses are going to be coming soon, let's get in touch and see if my place would work for you...$750 includes everything....

I currently have someone for 10 days starting tomorrow, then the rest of July is open, then for the month of August I have someone lined up...after that, she's wide open. If no one shows any interest, I'll just pay the $1,500 myself each month, but, when ya live on two islands, have two cars to maintain, two apartments to pay for, two grocery bills, flights back and forth, etc, it can get a little pricey, so I would appreciate a room mate.

Also, I smoke, so if that's a problem, then this place isn't for you....but it sure is quiet...and safe...and includes high-speed internet, utilities and water (be conservative!). Good neighbors, too.

Marty,

Our experience with Traveling nurses hasn't been good. Every single one of them has left the units a pig sty, and complain about the utilities and we've had two try to skip off island without paying. We now run credit checks and ask for stateside references if we even remotely think their a traveling nurse.

Again, perhaps we got all the bad eggs and you'll get the good one. I hope so.

Good Luck

Tippi

Tippi,
You didn't get ALL the bad ones.

Juanita,

I was hoping that I was the only one. Shaking head, I was hoping it was just me. Sorry it wasn't just my experience. I so hate to generalize-- sterotype but in this case when it comes to "nurses" I usually try to run the other direction.

Poor Marty doesn't need the headaches that I have had and I guess now it seems you've experienced it as well.

I'm steering clear of ALL nurses now! Thanks!

We have been renting apartments for a few years now, and I'm always saying "I've seen it all!" Boy, some of the nurses we had showed me things I had never seen or had even occured to me that people would live in.

In fairness...one of my dearest friends is a nurse, and my sister-in-law is a nurse. They both have absolutely immaculate homes.
