Travel agencies or websites - cheaper air fare?
Planning on PMV 1st or 2nd week of June - many of you are coming from larger cities where the cost isn't as exorbitant as trying to get out of the black hole of central Arkansas. Well, our bad for watching the prices for too long and not locking in - now they are ridiculously high, double what they were a week ago.
Anyone know of a/the best website to get a deal on, or maybe even a VI travel agent we could work with now and in the future for intermittent trips home?
I've tried the obvious - Expedia, travelocity, travelzoo, hotwire, orbitz....now on to something more imaginative....

Hi Becky,
I did my last search through Priceline.com and found it offered two distinct advantages over the other mega-travel sites:
1. If you can be flexible and are willing to add travel time/stopovers in order to save cash, you can bid on tickets at a much lower cost than list price (Pricelines listed prices are right in line witjh Orbitz, etc.. Downsides are that you are not told your specific itinerary or the airline you are flying until after you buy -- you could fly out anytime between 6 am and 10pm and make 1-2 layovers.
2. Unlike Yahoo, Orbitz, etc., Priceline includes some of the regional airlines that serve the USVI, including Cape Air, American Eagle and Caribbean Sun, in its searches. I got a great deal on tickets from STX to San Juan on American Eagle through Priceline just a few weeks ago. When paired with a JetBlue flight to SJU, I ended up with a pretty good deal relative to some of the pricing listed on Yahoo, Orbitz, etc.
Hope this helps and you find something terrific!

There is a topic on the vacation board regarding flyabroad.com, or something like that. Check that out.
