Transportation to BVI & other islands

You wrote you wished you and your husband could come na d go and were not stuck on BVI all the time
May i ask why ?
We are looking for a place to move to in the Carribean buying a holiday home 1st then moving slowly over a year or two.
we are property devlopers in london England and want a change of life style
We are late 40s but not ready to retire
We were thinking of moving to Florida where my husband would do small developments and i would work in real estae but the hurricanes have put us off !!
Would you be so kind as to give any tips or information about living /working on BVI
We are travelling to a few islands in the Carribean in Aril
Barbados is our 1st choice at the moment but BVI sounds lovely

The person had asked me if i was "retired" to which i replied, "i wish i was retired & just coming & going. my husband & i both work here"

You will need work permits to work in the bvi.

barbados is very different from the bvi. much larger. much further from the us. not such a "sailing" community. more "rugged" cliff-type coasts in places.

We would still retain projects here in London too
We are wanting to change our lifestyle ,,,,,we have agood life here but want to live in the sun in a place thats not so crowded and busy.
We have lived abroard before..India and Portugal.

Karen: You might want to check out www.traveltalkonline.com which has an active BVI forum, including several BVI residents. I don't believe you can just start a business in the BVI if you are not a belonger.
