Does anyone know how to transfer title on a vehicle without getting it registered or insured. I have a vehicle I want to sell someone for parts but I don't want it ending up on the side of the road still in my name.

Thanks for any info

Don't know, but I'll take a slug at it...
Cancel the registration (you need to turn in the plates). Cancel the Insurance(you'll need to show them the canceled registration)<<one or the other may say you need to do that first, if that's the case, & your in a circle, explain to both how the hell are you supposed to pull that off(w/o saying hell).
Sign the title over & have it notarized, ask for a copy & KEEP it!
In fact, copy EVERYTHING & keep it, the VI government is most proficient at fishing for $$$$(too bad not so good at anything else).
Hope I helped, hope I was right!??

I think the insurance company may have a stamp they use for totaling a car that hey may stamp it for you. Make sure you transfer the registration completely to them. Giving them a notarized registration in your name does not release you from owning the car until the transfer is complete and in their name. Maybe there is some sort of salvage notation at the MVB.
