Has anyone used this company or know of anyone who has used this company to ship their vehicle to the VI? If so, what was your experience with them?

Yes, I have used them. Aside from the new normal of shipping delays and such since the storms, I had a positive experience and would use them again. I used them for complete transport from NC to STT and had them get the vehicle road ready as well.

Yes, we have used top of the line transport twice to ship cars to STX from the mainland. Very good service, and price. We also had them do the the whole customs, road tax, registration process, etc when the cars got here.

Most recently, we shipped a RAV4 EV last July from Jacksonville, Fl to STX. TOLT picked up car, which we had just purchased from Carmax in JAX, trucked it to the port, and shipped to STX.

We also had them pick up a car from our home on Boston, truck to JAX port then ship to STX. That was a few years ago, also no problems.

Andre has been our contact both times, very good to work with.

Thanks a lot!, so far I've been reading nothing but great reviews but I wanted to hear it from someone that I know have actually used them. I also wanted someone that would take care of all the leg work once it arrived on island. I had a list of about 8 companies that I was narrowing it down to and this was one of the final 3. So far it has beat out the other two, only problem is I can't seem to get in touch with anyone! I've emailed, called, left messages and filled out the info online.. Hopefully they will get back with me soon.

Again Thanks for your input!

No being able to get ahold of anyone is common across the board with all these companies. If it were me, I would just keep trying Top if the Line. That’s how much I liked them. The truck we had shipped down was post storms. Not sure if you have Andres number, but just incase you don’t, tel:770-693-1581

@stjohnjulie, that's exactly what I did this morning...I went thru all the same contacts I had for them again and Andre finally emailed me back. Unfortunately they had an emergency yesterday and had to close early. They are also closed on the weekends but he reached out to me anyway...That says a lot to me right there so I will definitely be going with them.

Thanks for the input and recommendation! That took a lot of stress off of organizing this move!

No never had any experience with any transportation companies. But my brother once hired car transport Danbury offered by Connecticut Auto Transporter for his car shipping. He had a good experience.

I'll update this thread a bit.  I recently used Top of the Line for shipping and road ready and while the inland and ocean freight part went well the local people used for road ready (clearing and registration) went terribly.  So bad that I hired someone else to do the road ready part and at the end of it all paid road tax twice and now am having a hard time getting a refund for the double payment of the road tax.  Top of the Line uses a local company to do the road ready I would never use them or recommend them.  I would, however, recommend Boynes Trucking for the road ready.  I use them almost exclusively at work for clearing services and have always been happy with them.

Boynes Trucking looks like they are on STJ, do they service STT and STX?

They definitely deal with St Thomas and always have.  And currently, their office is located on St. Thomas as well since their office on St. John was destroyed in the storms.  I'm not sure about St. Croix.  I will ask them since I talk to them almost daily.   I'll post back with what they tell me.

Yes, they handled shipping an SUV from Chicago to STT in November for me.  Their partner on the front end stateside was great and super fast.  Unfortunately my car sat in Florida for weeks, even getting on one boat, then being pulled off for some unknown reason.  Like others have said, the ocean part is unpredictable.  Island side registration went well and the car arrived without any damage.  Overall, I'd recommend them.  My other advice is to hound whomever you use once the vehicle is scheduled to get on the boat, as my impression is that the folks portside will load in whatever order they please and you have to crack the whip.  I found out that cars that arrived to port after mine were taken earlier.  This ended up costing me a few hundred dollars in having to rent a car when on island.

This past November there were so many shipping delays all around.  And food and raw building materials will always bump a vehicle shipment.  The food shipments were even delayed showing up 3 days late right before Thanksgiving.  But it is definitely not unusual for a vehicle to be bumped off a boat to make room for something else.  Always good to have full pictures of the vehicle prior to shipping.  One of the cars I shipped arrived with several dings in it.
