Top of The Line Transport
Has anyone used them? They sent a quick estimate that seems reasonable. I've also heard for vehicles, getting them from the port and clearing them can be an ordeal. Is it worth it to pay an agent to do this instead?
I am not sure what is an ordeal but I have shipped two vehicle here, one from downisland when we moved here and a new one from Florida and it was simplistic to clear both. I don't think it took more than 20 minutes for each of them. I would never pay someone to do it.
I've done both ends more than once...dropping off at Tropical and doing all the customs, sed etc, and clearing in stx...not a big deal either way.
20 minutes is not bad. Even half a day is not bad. I must consider the source.
We used them to ship a vehicle down. The quote was in line with three others we requested and we did pay them to register the car, etc. Very happy with the service.
We used them to ship a car from San Diego to STX, they took care of everything and it was really reasonable.
I used sea star to ship my car from port everglades to stx 2 Weeks ago. 1127 to ship it, road tax was 423 and dmv was 110. All I did was was a quick clean up and I have 2 small children who destroyed the back seats. I spent a lot of time driving and got lost many times looking for the irs building and customs. Helped me learn the island better. Never bothered with one of those moving permits for the car. I had a police officer behind me with my Illinois plates and was never pulled over. I did not make it the the dmv until the next day. Very simple besides getting lost a lot.
