timeline for government?
Greetings all!
FIRST OFF I KNOW ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DOWN HERE ALREADY ARE LAUGHING AT THE TITLE OF THIS POSTING...b/c time and VI government don't go well together.....
I have just accepted a position within the Department of Labor..... and this is4months after i started the application process...(island time?) and I was just informed that it could be additional 3 weeks for my background check to come through...this takes48 hours in the states....go figure
anyone had experience with the starting a position with the gov't down here? and what are the timelines you ran across?
9 weeks with no job........getting kinda anxious, restless and not to mention BROKE here in STX!
Do you have a signed NOPA????
It may take 48 hours for a local govt stateside but the federal govt background checks are done by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and take can take 2 months to 6 months. The islands didn't invent bureaucracy although it does feel like they perfected it.
what is a NOPA?
Notice of Personnel Action- it is the proof that you are really, really hired and will get a pay check. Without a NOPA, your $$ may be delayed.
