thinking of moving to St. Thomas

pros-just look out your window. the biggest pro ever
cons-not being able to drive off the island to go visit family. the biggest con for me is that i am so far away from family. also health care. not saying things are terrible here but a lot of people prefer to go off island for health care

remember all the posts you read about someones experience are true to them. most are not exaggerations

Soul: Welcome to the forum! I agree with reading the archives here and with taking it all with a grain of salt. What is it that draws you to the USVI and to St Thomas? If you plan to work, what do you want to do?

Pros - Almost everyone will tell you it's a combination of the year round good weather and the scenic views.

Cons- for those who have to work biggest con is the combination of high than average living costs and lower than average salaries. Add to that things like frequent power outages, less than optimum internet service, appliances that have to be replaced more often, electronics that deteriorate faster, poor roads, etc. island living is like living in a small town without the ability to easily leave that small town and go to the big city.
