Hi Lynn,

Well, it would depend on how good a chef you are, and which island you want to live and work on 🙂

That depends-seriously, Lynn.

Though, unless you work in one of the top notch and expensive hotels like Caneel Bay on St. John, or like the Ritz, et all, on St. Thomas, you may very well need another side-job. It also of course depends on what's your lifestyle's like, e.g. do you want to rent your own home, or are you willing to share, etc. Same as in Atlanta no doubt.

Whaever you do, I would advise staying away from St. Croix. They are in economic trouble these days. So, St. Thomas or St. John. I am building a house on St. John; so I am partial to that island 🙂

But, St. Thomas has the most jobs in your field by far.

Regards

Hello Lynn,

Like Eric said you will find work in the resorts or restaurants.... and there are quite a few people in the USVI who are chefs and making a living... some do have another side jo particularly if they have children or like to buy more pricey things. If you want to live a simple life style then perhaps one job will do depending on where you find work.

You might want to order the Settlers Handbook mentioned on the Moving Guide of this web site. Go to the Moving Guide link at the top of the page. Book can be bought at http://www.vitraders.com under books.

You might want to make a plan your move trip to the islands to you can scope out which islands looks best to you and put your resume out there
