The Woes of Getting There...
I posted a few months ago after my fiance and I had made our pre-move visit to STT. We found a great deal on a beautiful home and placed a bid that day - we got it! So back to Boston we went to sell our home here. It's been almost three months and we still have no offers. My fiance already bought his ticket to STT for Sept 1st - I don't know what's going to happen if we don't sell our house - two mortgages isn't the most manageable thing for us. Just wanted to post and ask for your support and prayers that we get an offer soon and we can make our island dream a reality before too long!
Perhaps after the convention stuff is completed. Good Luck.
I'll be praying for yall! My family owns a few businesses in TX and we are also desperately wanting to make a dream come true by living in STT, but I cannot convince the whole family of how smooth the transition can be, nor can I really convince myself at this juncture. I hope that yall sell your house very soon!
You and yours will be in my family and I prayers.
Janelle,
Have you considered renting out the house in Boston?
Most local real estate agents will manage the entire process for you, including finding tenants and maintaining the property. (for a fee of course)
You can use the rent to offset the mortgage payment until you can sell it, which the same realtor can handle for you. You just fly back to sign the papers.
Good luck!
Good luck in your move. We are in the same situation in New York State. Planning our move for January 2nd. Follow your dreams as I am going to do no matter what!!
Mark and I are praying for you too, Janelle. We're going through the same thing here in Ohio. We were able to sell our vacation home in the Erie Islands very quickly but the street we live on in Toledo has numerous homes for sale and is really dicouraging. As a matter of fact, our next door neighbours want to sell also. We all discussed how the two houses on the market would go being next to each other and they decided to wait. All because of me and Mark's dream. They know we want to sell before winter sets in, so they decided to wait until spring to sell. Love my neighbours!
Keep your chin up and definately look at the possibility of renting like the post suggested. A real estate agent can take care of all that for you...
Good Luck (sell, sell, sell house in Boston)
