The Twelve Days of STX Christmas
It's my birthday, so humor me with this idea I had, and help me write an STX version of twelve days of Christmas. Can be as funny, wry or serious as you want! 🙂
I'll start...
On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me...
A dancing Mocko Jumbie.
btw, someone's gotta work in "fornicating iguanas" in there somewhere...
Ok shibuya, On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me 2 fornicating iguanas and a dancing Mocko Jumbie.
For JJ: On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me 3 hermit crabs racing, 2 fornicating iguanas and a dancing Mocko Jumbie.
P. S. Happy birthday!
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, fiiiiive moldy t'ings, 4 hours of no power, 3 hermit crabs racing, 2 fornicating iguanas and a dancing Mocko Jumbie.
hahahaha love these!!!! now we just need an illustrator and we will all be millionaires 🙂
Oh, I want to add '15 guilty senators', but there aren't enough days of Christmas!

It's the STX days of Xmas so it would be 7 guilty senators!
Haha, this is great! I especially like the moldy t'ings! 😀
@ DivingGirl, PERFECT!
So, what do we have 6 of?
'6 newwww potholes' ?
Some suggestions:
12 Tourists Gawking
11 Hermit Crabs Racing (More fun for JJ with LOTS of crabs)
10 Divers Diving
9 Rastas Smoking
8 Mongoose Dem
7 Guilty Senators
6 New Potholes
5 Moldy T'ings
4 Hours of No Power
3 Gypsy Cabs
2 Iguanas Fornicating
1 Dancing Mocko Jumbieeeeeeeeeeee
Does anyone know WHY there are 12 days of Christmas?
Does anyone know WHY there are 12 days of Christmas?
It's an old religious tradition of 12 days of feasting and celebration and gift giving, beginning with the feast on December 25th to celebrate the birth of Jesus and ending with the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th to celebrate the baptism of Jesus. January 6th is the celebration for 3 Kings Day during St. Croix's Christmas Carnival season and marks the end of the Xmas holidays.
January 5th is "Twelfth Night" and arguably there are 13 days of Xmas and 12 nights, if you count up Dec 25-Jan 6 inclusive. I've never read anything that specifically ties the number of days being 12 to the number of disciples being 12, but there's certainly the possibility that the tradition grew out of the number 12 somehow having meaning in early Christianity. Maybe the 13th partial day is a parallel to Judas. Religious scholars have probably debated and written papers on this in theology school.

It always takes longer to get things done here, so 12 days of Christmas will probably turn into 15.
