We're spending some time this weekend working outside to make sure there's nothing lying around that could fly around in a storm. Also getting gas for the generator (we finally bought one) and just generally making sure we're ready for whatever comes next week.

That's the only good thing about hurricanes vs tornados -- they give you plenty of time to prepare,

best to be safe than sorry. until november 30th, we are in hurricane season, so while it's nice to see it relatively light this year, vigilance always.

I'm glad we're getting this warning early in the season so we are ready--not surprised like with Omar.

TD2 is now TD Ana..................................crap.

Yes, everything changes when it is named AND you are smack dab in the middle of the cone of uncertainty!

Travel insurance Tam. You can buy it even now for your trip. I fly in on Friday - coming thru Miami.

I'm supposed to fly into Miami on Tuesday---anyone have any advice on whether the planes fly after /around the time of a storm?

Right now it is looking like to me that if we don't leave tomorrow we have very little change of getting home until the following week.

Just got off the phone with AA. They said that they watch it all closely and if they cancel they offer you to rebook at no fee. They post it on their website as soon as they know about cancels/changes. I fly thru Miami too, but not till later in the week. I'm preparing to hunker down where ever needed.

I'm so upset. My move is officially set at the end of Bill and now there's another one. I don't know why, but I did buy travel insurance, I guess because I've never done a "priceline" and did this time and wasn't sure what would happen. I was so excited getting an apartment near the boardwalk and now I couldn't be more on edge! I knew I would have to deal with this but I thought I would be there and have time to prepare... It looks as if the tropical storms are lining up... I'm not liking this :S

You can buy travel insurance up to the day you travel. Go to AA.com and find their travel insurance agent. Your flight doesn't have to be with AA I don't think.

Both Ana and Bill are tracking north of STX as of the 5am forecast. That might screw up you Miami flights but not sure I care about that......

The stormpulse site shows Ana tracking 66 miles south of St. Croix at 2:00 PM Monday. It also shows Bill tracking north of us. I'm hoping they are right for both!!

looks like Anna is going south. It's hitting some unforecated shear right now which may weaken her.

Ana will give us rain and no more than 40 mph....Bill shows heading, west by north-west and passing north of us, but they nhcc is predicting it will be a hurricane, so just be prepared. Hurricane parties will be in effect! hehe

Surely we'll get some rain with Ana. My cistern really needs it.
