The Good Things.....
The Good Things - not in a particular order & not a narrative & not about the beautiful beaches & weather, etc. - that's a given.
My Nice Neighbors - We all look out for each other. When I go to the states they keep an eye on my house and car. The boys help with my groceries. When I first moved to the neighborhood, I was well received & they helped me with rides, etc. I help them when they need help & visa-versa.
Driving - Love it when other drivers let me thru when they see I need to turn or come out from a side street etc. I do the same. I always gesture a thank you or a your welcome.
Offices (includes govt.) or small stores - when I enter & say "Good Morning/Afternoon" everyone replies. & they are helpful too.
Local car part store - the help I receive from young men with installing a battery in & wipers on-so far.
Hospital (Schneider Regional) - When I go to the for my regular tests & appts. I get friendly, professional service & help. When I was in ICU for over 6 days, I received great care from the professionals & help from my friends/neighbors. (before & after care)
The friendly help I receive when I need help in Kmart (town or country), Pueblo, Cost-u-Less or other stores & I even strike up conversations. & I try to frequent the same cashiers when they are on duty.
Just walking down the street, being at the beach, or establishment & greeting someone - a stranger, with "Good Morning/Afternoon/Night" & receiving a warm gesture back.
The causes I volunteer for. I've made close friends & I help & contribute to the community.
There are a few bad apples in the bunch, but that doesn't ruin my day.
You bright sun-shiny person you! Glad there are people like you around!
Pamela
Love the positive thoughts.
good for you beachbunnystt!
my goodies...
miss ricky's dove pork, which i always have at carnival time.
hot calypsos sung in the local calypso tents that lead up to the one hosted by the carnival committee... lots of melee and comedy. plus, the imagi soca brigade tent started a soca competition, this gets the younger set involved. we need fresh young minds to keep this thing evolving!
junior calypsonians and their mentors - king derby on st. croix, malverne gumbs on st. thomas... and all the arrangers and musicians to support them.
the dockside bookshop - if they don't have it they will order it for you... and they have a rewards system so every now and again i get a little something back for my patronage.
I LOVE buying a COLD water on the side of the road from whatever school/Church/organization is selling them. I keep dollars in the glove box just for that, and I buy one or 2 even if I don't need one at that time.
I also love roadside fruit/vegetable stands. Sometimes the woman out by the high school in Red Hook will give me a sample of whatever she has cookin' ... truly makes my day !
A very good friend of mine has a killer song out. It is titled " All the Little things " . When it hits the air I will tell all, where to find it. Go to MYSPACE and look up Ryan McGarvey. The only problem I have with him and his family,is my walking away. I can't play or write anything like him,so I guess my next best thing is feeding you and supplying a good time. St Croix,I will have him on island sooner or later. Hang on to your Bikinis and Swim trunks,he will knock them off. A more humble musician, you will never meet.
I love this good time, easy pleasure post by the way.:D
